  1. damn wife is cutting onions in the kitchen again... amazing and thank you both
  2. Some of you saw my post on a 400 vs a 700 Quad and nudged me in the direction of a UTV and honestly I'm strongly considering it now. I still see the cons as price and size vs a quad but the pros of the bed and added weight are growing on me. Would be used for typical hunting stuff like putting in stands and hauling deer. Would also be used around an aging orchard to haul debris from tree trimming and possibly some food plots and tow behind brush mowing. Anyhow, width is a big factor as my current trails are not super wide, and while it wont be terribly difficult to widen them I'm also not looking to put in roads. I built a spreadsheet comparing price, engine size, weight, width and ground clearance of the following: Can-Am Defender DPS Kawasaki Mule Pro-MX EPS Honda Pioneer 700 deluxe Deere Kubota Polaris Ranger 570 Premium I think I've narrowed it down to a Can-Am HD7 and Ranger 570. Both have the same ground clearance. the Can-Am has 200 pounds on the ranger but it's also 6" wider which might not seem like much but the defender is 14" wider than a Polaris 850 quad so it starts adding up. The Polaris at just 56" wide is only 8.4" wider. The Defender is $300 cheaper and 83 more cc's. Also for what it's worth, you can't get shit right now. Polaris' is shipping out to March and Can-Am's a little more available but larger engines and more expensive trims. I don't really need anything till the spring. Thoughts? https://ranger.polaris.com/en-us/ranger-sp-570/ https://can-am.brp.com/off-road/us/en/models/side-by-side-vehicles/defender.html#dps?gclid=Cj0KCQiAy4eNBhCaARIsAFDVtI2xQd0Bw0KoD8rK8LjKGrjkODacPwoSjucLZL1dREzXiRhr6BjS4tcaAobJEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds PS haven't totally ruled out a Kodiak, Polaris 850 or Can-Am Outlander
  3. The duck hunters were the only shots I heard this morning which really surprised me. Usually this Saturday is still pretty active and honestly the weather wasn’t that bad. Congrats to your son on some beautiful birds. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Dropped in its tracks. Did wiggle and shake though haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I used to, but I’ve upgraded to a soft touch, light and delicate approach. Then when it’s time, turn into a paddle boat [emoji1787] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. 9 deer entered. 8 left. #mademeat Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. State champ muff diver over here Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Same. Muff with electric hand warmer, heated socks and insoles and some good insulated wind blocking gear and other than my hand right now from typing I can’t complain. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. You know he had to get his plug for that tool in. No pun intended lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Passed a small buck right around legal light. 4 doe hanging out in the neighbors cut corn. Wind is sporadic but when it gusts, damn is it cutting. This is why I spend money on good gear. Days like today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Oh I know they don’t. But when your freezer isn’t empty it becomes a “I’m being a bitch” thing haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Ready to hunt in the AM but damn the wind is howling in 8F right now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I know lots of guys have jokes about bringing a .22 or air rifle with them, but I wonder if anyone has actually done it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Man that’s scary. Any initial idea what caused it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. The kind of sit where even if you don’t see a deer, it’s a good for the soul. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Man to think I was on your side. 1. What Eddie said isn’t homophobic. Someone’s gender issues is not the same as their sexual preferences. At least get it right if you’re going to argue. 2. I didn’t attack anyone. Re-read that post and help me understand where there was any personal attack. At best I was a little shocked at how aggressive he was at a pretty minuscule comment. 17. Yeah same man, always guts. Lung is textbook. Crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. More shooting tonight than there was opening day Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Very educational story. I have had numerous broadhead wounds plug, but never a gun that’s wild. I do tend to see a lot less bleeding with gun though as bullets will tear and broadheads cut. Are those acutips hollow points? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Man what a change in weather. Cold and snow to warm and sun. Not sure what to think with regards to how it’ll effect deer. Sometimes swings help, sometimes they don’t. I do know that all the neighbors here have been shooting a LOT and that doesn’t help. I also know that I can’t kill them on the couch! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Saw nothing last night. Took the wind out of my sails a little to see no deer in a morning and evening sit and I knew I would be 50/50 when the alarm clock went off this am and I bowed out. Gun season really just doesn’t do it for me. In my 20+ years the few weeks after the opener really shut down, then pick up a bit after most of the orange army leaves. I’ll still take a shot tonight, because why not? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. The one shot for some with already damaged hearing is worse than you may expect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. This baby is on its maiden voyage and I’m really liking it. Much better than the disposable hand warmers plus doubles as a backup battery OCOOPA Hand Warmers Rechargeable, 7800mAh Long-Lasting Heating Electronic Hand Warmer, Battery Powered Great for Camping, Hunting, Warm Gift, Power Plus, 1-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YC8CVWV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_BQ2ZJ8YQ1DGRDGQB1V7K?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I’ve pulled some monsters on cams lately too. All have been nocturnal after the 1st week in November. Our best hope now is a doe in heat or for them to get pushed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Uh the whole point is to save your hearing. They don’t hunt WITHOUT them overseas as it’s a safety thing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
