  1. Very quiet in 9H. Quiet all year actually....
  2. Same here lol. Enjoyed the sit though
  3. Bloomberg is a tool...anyways this is maybe the type of job you don't do yourself only because its a legality thing. I had a stock put on an ar15 that I definitely could have done myself but because it legally has to be pinned in place I wanted to have a receipt that I carried with me to prove it. If you do it yourself it still is just as effective but you might have to sit and wait for an officer to check for themselves if it ever came up.
  4. The OP is completely correct. And yes we DO NEED 30 round clips. Back in 1992 only 20 years ago there was a very serious situation in L.A. Where rioting mobs were looting, assaulting and killing people left and right. The reason why that's relevant....well what would you want to use in that situation? the government cannot tell us that we can only use a 6 shooter in a life or death situation. Again only 20 years ago. Not the 1700's
  5. Has anyone here been on a really good elk or buffalo hunt? I feel like every time I google something like this the popular $8,000 trips come up but id like to find something that is more reasonable really. I know there has got to be some of you out there that have found a great spot and wouldn't mind sharing it . Thanks for any advice
  6. Thank you for the detail. It'll definitely help me being new to processing
  7. Honestly I watched the video and I think honestly there is zero connection. For this to be true many other things also have to be true. For instance to leave clues in a movie is downright stupid. People making the movie have to be on board with a conspiracy and that is highly unlikely especially when they are leaving "clues". It's very very easy to manipulate video also. A friend of mine is a great video editor and instead of "aurora" on the top of the building he could've make it say "baby food" if he really wanted to. I'm usually one to believe there is a lot more going on then we are led to believe but this is a stretch at best
  8. I've been lucky with 150 gr core lokt also. 4 shots. 4 deer. Great year!
  9. 223 is perfectly fine for deer. I have used it twice and both times got deer. I use a 30-06 mainly now for two reasons. 1) the looks I got from the other hunters at our camp. (Flashlight, laser, holographic sights etc etc. looked like I was going to war) 2) even with a perfectly placed shot the deer seemed to run further and ultimately made them a LITTLE more difficult to track. whats important is having a better round then surplus military ammo or plinking stuff. Have something with you capable of expanding well enough so you don't have to use more then one shot. Just my two cents....
  10. 223 works great just have to get a hunting round.
  11. so the average price of something like that I'm seeing is around $300-$400. Is there anything out there a little cheaper for commercial grade? Thanks for all the replies so far!
  12. As far as a grinder/sausage maker combo this one looks good too http://www.westonsupply.com/Weston-8-Heavy-Duty-Meat-Grinder-for-Home-Use-p/33-0201-w.htm
  13. What do you guys think of this dehydrator? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0090WOCM6/ref=cm_srch_res_rtr_1
  14. Just like the title says I am looking for some of your suggestions on your favorite food processing equipment. This will be my first year fully processing my own deer so I'd like to know what some of your suggestions on equipment are for making sausage, jerky and burgers...
  15. Opening day I filled two out of three tags and it was around 45-50 degrees most of the day. To keep the meat cool I left the skin on and kept them in the shade until the next day because I don't have anywhere to hang them. The warm temps the next day to starting to worry me a little so I took them to a processor by 2pm the next day. So mine were warm, cold and warm again. I'm hoping the meat comes back good.
  16. I hunt Wyoming county and got a nice 12 point buck opening day at 200 yards. Our camp pulled in three total that day and since then seen a few small ones. I'm waiting for the big doe to come by ????
  17. Does anyone have any experience using Buck and Dow? A hunter I was with yesterday recommended them and then again I've heard not to take it to a processor because "you can't trust em" Just looking for a little reassurance I guess Thanks
