Congrats on the new pup. Sure is a cute bugger. Can't wait to see pics of him chasing those bunnies

I'm a fan too and will be there next week. Leaving in a couple days.

Thanks slick. We used kayaks last year and you are correct that it isn't a fishing vacation but a family vacation. The ponds have trout, bass, northerns, blue gill, and perch. Caught all species last year but trout and enjoyed every second. Just getting away is the goal this year and everything we do there is a bonus. Tomorrow ill finish my 13th day in a row of work and then off for 9 days. Can't wait.

Not first time. This will be my third, second for the family. We are site 282 this time, 288 last year. Our friends are in 280 &281. It is a nice place, fishing is so so, and not far from some great attractions or just hanging around camp.

Family trip TC so no time to sneak away to try where I really want to fish. Ill stick to the ponds we are staying at and hope to get some perch for a fish fry. Good luck fishing with WCJ. Salmon River is a great fishery. Thanks everyone. I'm sure it is going to be awesome away from phones and tv for 5 days just enjoying nature.

So I've posted on the forums before about playing Cornhole(bean bag toss game) and tried to extend my playing time at night. Looked at battery operated light sets and such but then saw these light pods on Amazon. $25 you say, huh Amazon. Ill show them. So I worked 6 hours today and came home to a 2x2 sheet of 3/4" plywood. Grabbed a picture of these things and a pencil and ruler and got busy. Again as the title states, I AM NOT a good carpenter but I'm pleased with how they turned out. The wood was laying around and I bought the LED lights at Harbor Freight for $2.99 each. All 4 lights ( 2 for under the boards and 2 for my light pods) with tax was less then $13. Now we can play at night and will be taking them camping next week. Heres the pic I used as a reference -
The title may b a little misleading as we are not roughing it, but more into "glamping" . Set up the tent this afternoon and sprayed all the seams. Had a little refreshment afterwards too. Headed to Fish Creek Pond (Saranac Lake area) on August 16th and it can't get here soon enough. Anyone else heading out this month to tent camp?

Any interest in a Remington Model 710 in .270

It is metal with plastic cover on the bottom. The action is a little clunky and you have to use some force to get the bolt down into place it seems. I've oiled it up and it works well just not as smooth as other rifles. Again this gun has no sentimental value to my Dad nor I. I have the weapon in my cabinet that does hold value, both monetary and sentimental.
