I use the same ML but use 2 Pyrodex pellets and a 245 grain sabot. I bought some 240 grain sabots for this year, but I have had issues with mine punching 2 holes in the past as well but at shorter distances.(No shots over 70yds) I do know that I have hit low on 2 of the deer and had to reload and take a killing shot but the 1st shot did no go through. It may be the sabots and how they react to soft tissue which I read about in another thread on here but I am no expert. That ML is a magnum too, so if I was going to take shots over 100, I would practice using a magnum load or 3 pellets and a heavier bullet than 250 grains. Just my opinion and again, no expert here. Wish we could get a breach plug to use BH209 for this ML but you would have to have the original machined which is a risk I am not willing to take. A new ML is a better idea. Sorry you lost her. I have 4 days and will be using the Kodiak so I will report how it goes. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk

Hang a trail cam for a few days where you saw all the tracks. That will let you know faster if it is worth sitting on the bucket. If not, you have a pot to piss in out in the woods!!! Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk

It can't hurt that's for sure but the deer patterns do change over the years. I've come across several items at my camp as well in the Catskills. We have buckets, old milk crates, wooden stands, tree stands and ground blinds made from branches. I've spent time hunting all of them over the years. Some I have seen deer from, others nothing. I say go for it. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk

I've had mine stick even with the lube after sitting in the cabinet for a year so I just leave the breach plug out for the year. Not convinced there isn't some moisture in the lube as well as the humidity in the house throughout the year. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk -
Decided to drown my sorrows for a pitiful season thus far. Glad I did as this was tasty AF!! Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk

Busy dragging my a$$ around the property only to see nothing. Buddy and his son saw 7 and took a shot and missed. First time in along time I have not filled at least one regular season gun tag. Regrouping for next weekend with the ML. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk -

I work for a company that does screen printing and embroidery and we also set up websites for companies to sell their "swag". If the owner of the site doesn't want to deal with, my company can be the behind the scenes group to take care of it. I have no idea on the cost or how it works but can get info. Just let me know. Where are you paying $50 to have it done and what does it look like after $50. Just curious. $80 to $100 for a bettle job around here and $125 to $150 for a complete euro with a wooden plaque. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk

I have the same issue Jay has but my ML is a CVA Kodiak. I did several searches and found a guy that used to modify the plugs about 3 years ago based on the forum posts dates.(didn't search hard for newer posts) He is on Huntingnet.com and even has picture tutorials of the process. I think I may try to contact him in the off season so hopefully I can switch to BH209 next year. Here is his info but you will need to join Huntingnet.com to message him. Make your own and save some cash. Super simple. Buy a small trash can, a hot water heater element, some watertight epoxy or chaulk and a cord for the element. Done. I'll take pics of mine if I can find it. Cost me right around $20. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk

Bend some coat hanger into a small loop shaped like a P and put it into your cordless drill. Wear eye protection and facemask, haha! Long tweezers for that pesky membrane stuck at the bottom. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk

Super glue if any of those nose bones separate. It's a cheat but it works. Be sure to wipe with a lint free white cloth so you don't get "shiny spots". Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk

I've done a few in the past and the scrubbing and scraping after simmering sucks. The smell of it simmering sucks, and did I mention the nasal cavity? Yeah that sucks too. If an when I get another worthy of a euro, I am going to try the pressure washer method. For a finish I use the 40 peroxide from the beauty store (my wife has a license to buy from there) and I mix it with baking soda and it creates this weird dust you can just rinse off. I like the "white" look versus the natural or yellowed look. Plus it's easy to reapply down the road if some oils release and start to yellow the finish. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk

Well it was a good hunt but not a great hunt. Saw fresh tracks right where I expected them to be but couldn't get to the piece of land I knew they were in as I ran into another Hunter so I back tracked and hit a few other areas but didn't see anything. Was still fun and got some exercise. Thought this was cool where the deer crossed this log. Sent from my XT1635-01 using Tapatalk -
