Very funny thats for sure!!! The chick behind the camera needs to either go on a diet or go back and buy another pack of smokes! The video shows 2 things. One is how dangerous a whitetail could be(if he would have took that little rack and really started lettin her have it and number two would be how easy it can be to kill yearling bucks. lol Cant stop laughin though!!!

Doewacker can you really come on here and say that you yourself have never filled a tag that was not yours or that you know of not one person that has done that??????? I highly doubt it. That crap happens all the time. I have done it before and i know of some that have done it this year. Is it my place to call them out?? No sir.. Those are the same guys that say there are no big ones around but they have shot 3 yearlings this year. You really cant do any better math than 50/50 if you shoot that baby today he is dead if you let him walk atleast he has half a chance to make it through the year. Thats why i am all for antler restricts and cant wait untill its statewide. Then those same jacka$$ cant shoot the baby bucks all year long. Like i said alot of hunters are not stealthy enough to take a mature buck even if they were numbered high in their neck of the woods. Like antler said..guys would rather shoot a 4in spike than have to say they got no buck this year. Someday ny state will get it right and make shorter seasons, antler restrictions, and less tags and when they do i bet i could name a few guys on this site besides myself that will still have no problem putting one on the ground. Others will have to adjust!!! -
Are you trying to say that a deer or any other animal does not feel pain??? I hope not because that is so far from the truth it's borderline ??????

Sniper's on letchworth state park????
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in Deer Hunting
No doubt we all have our own reasons for hunting the way we do.If tags filled is not top priority on the list so much the better. You bet i did pull another book buck out of there, That makes number 5 that would make the book out of my little hell hole on the park. There will forever be some monsters on that park that never get taken and thats why you will see me there. I am all about big deer every day of my life.I am more concerned about the numbers that have been going down hill as of the last 5 years. I am all for shorter seasons, antler restricts, one buck per year because big bucks trip my trigger and deer sightings most times i go hunting trip my trigger. Show me one person that would not want to atleast see deer most times they go to the woods. Not many im sure!! There are some older guys that hunt the park and cant travel far from the road. They see nothing anytime the hit the woods. I assure you when i say i have hunted that park for 18 years i have hunted in every weather condition the park could ever have. One year sweat pants and sneakers and the park has never been as bad as it is now.I make 5 trips down there most years and come the 17th of dec you will see me there with mr knight in my hand and i will have full view of what the park had to offer this year. I am wishing for better but have high doubts it will look any different. I have had great luck with the pure heat scents when i use them but then again everyones areas, deer numbers, buck numbers and the way they use them affects its success. I can promise you one thing..When you bought that scent you got what you paid for.. Pure doe in heat when she was in her 55 to 60 hour breeding cycle. Hope to see some pic's!! -

If you want to fill some tag's..My advice would be stick to the private land or wait till the park is closed,The bottom flooded and 6 to 8 inches of snow on the ground!!!! -
Huge Buck Ithaca/Cayuga Heights 16 pt?
Four Season Whitetail's replied to HectorBuckBuster's topic in Bow Hunting
The ONLY problem i would have is..Do they really let hunters on a cemetary to fill their tag's??? Thats what i find hard to believe. We have one around me filled with geese in the ponds and deer in the brush but you wont get a gun on it. I am sure that guy probably got the last deer out of that place.Once word gets out people with family might blow a gasket and change some rules. Fairly tame deer shot on sacred ground in such a little area will taint this kill>> No Doubt's!!! -
Did it once!!! 1.Broke its spine on a 200 yd shot with a 300 wby mag just at dark and didnt want to shoot it with a canon at close range!! 2.Did the job. Took way to long to do the job! 3 Sharp knife and go deep!! 4.Lie there way to long.Would rather not go that far on public fourm. 5. Was the worst feeling i have ever had in my life. They are way to noble of a creature to ever have that done to them. I made a promise to myself that i would never put an animal through that again. I love raising whitetails.I love hunting whitetails and i think they deserve to be dispatched faster and more humane no matter the reason. I will shoot again no matter the size of the weapon.

If the truth is known the guys that shoot the little bucks shoot them on their wives, kids, family or friends tag,s. Most are not stealthy enough to hold out and take a mature buck. Some have time restraints on hunting time. Most would not drop the hammer so fast if they had to use their own buck tag. I wish there was a way to stop that crap because i know and you know it happens all the time. That crap of mt neighbors shoot everything is bull also. Fact is if you kill that baby buck now he has no chance but if you let him walk atleast he has a 50/50 chance to make it next year. Yearlings are the easiest deer in the woods to kill.Period!!! -

I was told either sometime last week it was flooded at guardio overlook down threw the hogsback. There has always been a few stands on the west side bottom and opening morning i sat in my stand and watched many flashlights come down threw the eastside bottom. -
I would'nt go as far as saying jealousy. Sometimes when this dont ad up questions are raised. I mean it is said that the uncle will come out in his own time but he poses for a picture with the buck and the face is blocked out. If you didnt want it out..why take a pic? Brand new to the site but have been watching post but making no comments. Reguardless its a great buck and hopefully ny wilds will get the credit of making such an awesome creature. One thing is for sure if its not on the up and up it will come out sooner or later. For now it can be taken for what it is and thats a stud of a buck that anyone would be proud to sign a tag to!!!!
-
You bet ya!! I would have said sorry but that tag has been already been used by another friend. You could explain to him that if mabey you would have known things would be different but as of now there is no tag to be had. He broke the law on shooting the deer and im sure he would have broke the law on getting it out. Wife or no wife i would neve be in that position again and i would let my wife know so. They used you once and they will do it again. I would cut the ties. The wife wont let you sleep on the couch long and sometimes its a very comfy place to sleep!!!

Will he be scored and givin the fame that the deer should get. Heck of a buck anywhere thats for sure but face blocked out??? If that was most guy's you would not have a camera big enough for the smile...????

New reports out of the park is that with all the complaints with lack of deer reported. The bottom was flooded to push the deer up into the hardwoods. Without much success. Four hunters and i mean hunters 3 days with flooded bottom and 4 deer seen and same reports from other hunters on the park this week. Damadge sounds like it is already done!!! -
Sniper's on letchworth state park????
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in Deer Hunting
Well i understand if there is a problem it needs to be dealt with. On the other hand the deer in each end of the park will travel such as all whitetails will. In the almost 20 years i have been there(and im talking back when it took 3 people to be on a PARTY PERMIT)to get a doe tag.I have never hunted in the safe zones. I hunt the center of the park and most, but not always, the bottom. That park is in the worst shape than it ever has as far as deer numbers. If you read some of my past posts you will see i spoke highly of the park always. But no more. Between the sharpshooters(if it happened) the hunting(Though doubtful as they have ar and only allow a certin number of hunters and the park is 17 miles long of some nasty a$$ stuff. There are no deer. Then if you add in the 90 plus damadge permits they give farmers along the park(That wont let you hunt their land) Shooting deer all night with lights and yes i have talked to guys at bars and places(locals) that say they know for sure farmers that gut shoot the deer and they run back on the park to die.(hence alot of dead deer found on the park) They are takin the deer out. With all the cuts in the state and with that being a big park and if there is no hunters money, who knows that park might be next on the list. Also i am not sure about the park not making their own rules. Where did the antler restricts come from when the rest of 8m could shoot any buck???? I didnt see any dec meetings or reports!!! I could of missed that. Who knows. All i will say is a spoke to many in the c cabins that have been hunting there for years and they say their opening week will be spent elsewhere from here on in. Thats a great park,Just to see it go by the wayside!!!! Like so many other's!!!! -
Sniper's on letchworth state park????
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in Deer Hunting
WNY, You kind of take me back by your comments on this subject. You do relize this is a state park and this is a place that some hunt because they have no private land to hunt. When the state charges $500 a week to stay and hunt and there are about 50 cabins full every week of the whole hunting season. You do the math. That is not counting the stores and restaurants in that area that get money from hunters. We hunt and we hunt hard,We earn the deer we get but some cant go to the extreams that we do.After almost 20 years of letchworth hunting,Its going downhill fast. You cant tell me an extended bow or late muzzle season would not be better than freakin sharpshooters. The state parks are closing left and right and we spoke to a worker down at the park this year that said half the staff had been laid off this year. 50 cabins at $500 a week by 8 or 10 weeks of hunting will go a long ways towards paying some bills. I can see that those numbers will be dropping after this year!! -

Four Season Whitetail's replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in Deer Hunting
Yeah we are up the road about a mile or so from where the pic was taken!! Rev i am not sure on that one because the park makes its own rules for what i was to believe. As meaning no rifles in a rifle mgmt area and number of hunters per side and such. I guess i am not really complaining for myself as we are loaded on the farm which boarders the safety zone but i do hunt the bottom alot and have noticed the drop in numbers but i say if you are going to take them out let ny state hunters do the job!! -
Sniper's on letchworth state park????
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in Deer Hunting
That pic looks like one of our fields.. We have 125 acre farm outside the safety zone on the mt morris end. Those deer are no more either as they opened up that end of the park to bow hunters. That in turn pushed more on our farm. This info came from the front office at the park when they were turning thier cabin keys in. The guy did not deny it was done and all he said was something had to be done because they were killing all the saplings and new growth on the park. He was very surprized that we heard about it so i do believe it went on and i dont think the dec or anyone in the click will admit to what went on. I dont have a problem with the deer removal per say but i think hunters should have got the tags or open a longer late bow season on the park or something. You have to remember they make their own rules on the park so there could have been a shoot givin the green light by someone in charge on the park.Rather than sharp shooters give them to hunters that pay taxes, rent cabins, buy tags and in turn support ny state!!! -
Sniper's on letchworth state park????
Four Season Whitetail's replied to Four Season Whitetail's's topic in Deer Hunting
I dont know..wny..They say they were counting 300 to 900 deer on any givin day..in a 3 miles radious!!! I will tell you one thing for a FACT the park has taken a beating when it comes to deer numbers in the last few years.. Myself i did well down there on sightings but it was no where like its been in the past and it was for sure no where near the road!!! -
Well we took our normal trip to letchworth this year as we have done for the last 18 years. Well this trip seemed a little strange right from the jump...NO DEER!!! Well to make a long story short. we have huted that park forever and last year they opened up the safety zone at the castile end to late bow with does only. Not a problem as there were loads of deer there. This year they open the my morris end to bow.Still not a bad thing as lots of deer there. The problem i have is that i now hear that the state hired sharp shooters to come on the park the last 2 winters and take over 1000 whitetails EACH winter. I dont know 100% if its true but it came from a good source. Well i think if they wanted deer taken out they would not have antler restrictions for one thing. They should allow more hunters and/or more tag's. They charge us $500 a week to rent cabins,They charge for hunting tag's and we all pay ny state taxes. Why not let nys hunters take the deer??? On top of that how many hundreds damadage permits do they give to the local farmers. I talked to alot of guys down there this year that say this is their last year for hunting the park. So there goes money the state will be missing out on again. Go figure!!! Do any of you guy's have any knowledge on this issue. I know they knocked the pi$$ out of the herd. Some parties had 10 guy's hunting with 2 cabins rented and went home with 2 fawns and another group of 4 saw 2 deer in a three day trip.
