Ya nothing showing up for me either [emoji3525]

Well my youngest decided a couple mins ago he had to drop a #2. So he takes off running back to the house spooking the 8 does we had in the field. Wife waits for him at the end of the trail and brings him inside. Didn’t have to go, just wanted a snack[emoji849] lol. So now it’s down to me and the oldest. He’s dying to see a buck come out and go down. I applaud his patience for a 6 yr old though. He’s a trooper on the binos!

Brought the boys out for the afternoon. With the orchestra of grunts and bleats from my youngest I’m not sure we will see much lol. My oldest is deff going to be the easiest to hunt with. He’s calm and so content on just glassing the field with the binos. Youngest is bouncing around in here. I’m waiting for him to say he’s bored and is gonna walk back by himself lol

Ughh. Just had a doe creep up the little trail I have to get in my blind to about 6ft away. She stops. Starts stomping for a good 3-4 mins. Then she lets out the loudest blow she could. And just stands there staring. She’s been blowing for 15 mins now. It’s dead quiet here so that crap is echoing far lol. Stupid doe. First time I’ve had one take my little path. Might have to block it off with something to stop that from happening again.

Phone was dead earlier but I had a nice afternoon sit. Didn’t see any bucks but had a lot of does come out. Weather was beautiful and made for a nice relaxing sit. On a side note. Anyone get the urge to call out a local guy on FB for killing a high fence deer and trying to play it off like it’s a fair chase kill? This dude is a local wanna be hot shot Mikey Waddell wanna be. I’m fighting the urge to embarrass the hell out of him.

Yep I know the pain. We were going to get the boys into Boy Scouts but decided not to after going to the first meeting and hearing about all the time they would need to be there. Just not enough time in our schedule to fit that in. My one son is very good at karate and loves it, his instructor is pushing for him to go far with it so he’s there 4-5 days a week. Then with archery classes, baseball and just trying to have a life, it would of been impossible to make even 1/4 of the Boy Scout functions. Just not enough hours in the day! Plus when they rattled off all the events planned for weekends during hunting season I was out lol.

Neighbor stopped down to the mill to pick up feed for his animals. He doesn’t have much land of his own to hunt and was kinda down in the dumps about the lack of deer he’s been seeing over by him. So I told him go sit in one of my stands this weekend since I won’t be able to hunt. Pulled out the map and showed him where to park and where the stand is. He’s all sorts of happy now. Hoping this gives me some good karma to drop a nice buck Monday night!

Ouch! That’s a scary situation for sure! A good friend of mine had a arrow explode on him just like that resulting in surgery to remove tons of carbon shards. His hand was severely messed up. I’d get that looked at ASAP in case they need to go in and pull out pieces you can’t see on the outside or you might have some big issues later on.

Ya I’m sure he will come back. He’s a regular around here. I’m usually pretty good at judging distance but I guess I was a little off my game yesterday lol. But ya I agree fields make it harder. For some reason I’ve always judge yardage better up in a tree than I do on the ground in a blind. O well, just another one of those things that make hunting such a fun challenge. Snapped a couple pics of him quick before he walked off

Well I did something I don’t normally do last night. Nice 8 pointer I’ve been watching came out at 6pm and gave me a perfect broadside shot at what I thought was 40 yards. Range finder worked fine Tuesday morning but wouldn’t work yesterday. It’s got a newer battery so idk what’s wrong. Needless to say I misjudged the range and sent a arrow 6 inches over his back. He didn’t spook but started slowly walking towards the 5 does in the field that were even farther away. Without a sure range I was comfy sending any more arrows at him so I had to sit there and watch him parade around for 20 mins before he disappeared back into the timber. My god was I pissed off last night. Hence why I couldn’t write this till this morning lol Good thing is he wasn’t spooked. He nor the foes heard a thing or had a clue anything happened. So I’m gonna get the range finder figured out before my next hunt Monday night and hope he comes back!

Decided to take off work early today and get my errands done so I could get a afternoon sit in since I have to work 7a-7p all weekend. Finished brushing my blind in too Now I’m nice and cozy in here with my feet kicked up waiting on a nice buck! Wind is whipping and temp is dropping. Good luck everyone!

Damn that was a lot of reading to catch up from just this morning.....and nothing exciting to read either! Why does anyone care who shoots what at what range? There’s always someone who’s a better shot than you, get over it. Ive taken shots on animals out to 88 yards. I sure as hell don’t care if the next guy wouldn’t do it, but I sure don’t think anyone needs a lecture or spanking over shot ranges. So dumb.
