Yes, you most definitely ARE a jackass. Why didn't you tell everyone that you taunted me first in a PM, thus I dared you to post some pictures? Oh, you forgot that part, huh? Here are some of my pictures. I am NOT a trophy hunter and am happy with anything I put on the ground, be it big or small. You obviously have NO respect for those type of hunters, and that is your loss. I feel sorry for you. Some of the deer pictured are bigger and more mature than the 50 lbs deer you told me I was only capable of killing. You talk from you a$$ and that's pretty much it.
-
I am publicly daring you to post pictures of the mature deer you have killed, or anything else for that matter. I will post pictures of my trophy room tomorrow morning, so you'd better come up with some photos of your own. We shall see who has shot what in their hunting careers. Good luck to you, you may need it.

Since when do butchers charge more for bigger deer? Area 3H gives out mighty few doe permits. Don't give me this BS that butchers make as much money in 3H as somewhere else where doe permits are more readily available. You have lost your argument before you even started it.
-
I will eat any deer you ever shoot with it's skin and hair on. LOL Butchers or taxidermist would be going out of business real fast with hunters like you.
-
Well, well, look who crawled out from under a rock again. And then you clowns call us elitist for touting the importance of traditional hunting know-how? Why don't you post the big buck you shot in your AR zone?? Have been waiting for 3 years to see that one.
-
I hope you aren't referring to me and Doewhacker with that comment? We have a nice stash of venison in the freezer already, that we of course cut up ourselves, and the season ain't over yet. The main difference between us and many others here is that we don't post pictures of our kills before rigor mortis even sets in.
-
I'd rather be the dumbest deer in the woods, than the smartest one in a game pen. Would that be you by any chance?? LOL
-
So are you saying that you wouldn't eat them if she were to stick them in your face?? I'm sure there are other parts of her anatomy, that may even have an off-odor at times, that you wouldn't refuse to munch on if given the opportunity. At least I hope you wouldn't be dumb enough to refuse. But heck, we are talking about HuntingNY forum members, so who knows?? After all we can't make any comments about what others choose to do around here. LOL
-
I've ordered a box full of "Butt-out" tools to give to a number of you here. Hopefully you guys can find them useful in and out of hunting season.
-
You could only wish you got some of the things I have been given here at my work place over the years. LOL
-
Oh you are very wrong! I have worked in the same place for 20 years, and year after year the boss tells me that I am the lowest maintenance employee in the joint. I do my job and that's pretty much it. When I do have a comment to make, though, they listen, because they know what I say has more than a little truth and thinking behind it. Had a milestone birthday just a couple of months ago and they gave me a $500 Cabelas gift card. Now is that a nice gift or what from a boss who doesn't care much at all for hunting? What did you get lately?? Hunting to me is a pastime that requires a little spent energy, in some cases more than just a little. If you guys want to make it a lazy mans game, as simple as watching sports on your Lay-Z-Boy chairs, go right ahead. I fully realize that people will do whatever they want, no matter what I or anyone else says. Just don't expect me and many others to bow down to you, though, for your decision. We definitely are not obligated to do that.
-
Oh Jeez, you guys sound like those 300 lbs professional football players who are crying and suing that they have been bullied by coaches and other players. I guess political correctness and the never say anything bad or negative mentality has crept into the hunting world too.
-
Anyone who just wants to pull the trigger and kill and do little to NOTHING else. People can't walk to their stands, need ATV's to get there. Surely won't expend the energy to drag one out, if they can't even walk on their own two feet. Once they do manage to kill one and haul it out, then they don't want to get some blood and meat under their fingernails. To gooey and messy I guess. Not something that's necessary for a HUNTER of all people to know how to and be encouraged to do. The only energy these guys expend in the hunting field is when they bend their trigger fingers to pull the trigger or a little arm strength to pull the string on a bow. These fellas of course will be first to boast about their kills and post pics on the internet for the world to see. For that they have plenty of time. If the shoe fits, you are one of these "guys". Then WE are called the elitist hunters. Damn, that's the laugh of the year. Have fun girls, trying to defend yourselves from what I have pointed out here.
-
Yeah right, I chased them away. LOL I will guarantee you that your type, with your AR nonsense, etc. has made more people give it up than anything I've ever said or done. Think what you want of me, though, not like I am one of the sensitive little school girls here.
-
You are the narrow-minded ones. Hell, it's you guys who don't even want to take the time to learn how to do it. I can easily pay someone to process a dozen deer if I wanted to, but guess what? I rather do it myself. As others mentioned, the process from kill to the freezer can be a very satisfying one. Too bad you guys can't see it. You fellas announce to the world that you've killed something before you even lay your hands on the animal, yet don't see the value in knowing and actually processing a deer yourselves. What can I say?? There are killers, and then there are hunters I guess.
-
Feel free to move this post to the classified section if you wish, but I just thought I'd post it here first. My little girl has now outgrown this, so I thought there might be a few fellas here that might be interested in it. Best offer takes it!
-
You my friend, is what I call a complete, and self-sufficient HUNTER. My hats off to you. I surely can't say the same for the rest of the folks around here.
-
No, it's not a manhood thing. Are you trying to tell us that hunters shouldn't at least make an effort in learning how to process a deer?? Many these days don't even have a clue how to start. Come on now, you are older than most here, and I would expect you to consider game processing as a vital element of being a complete, self-sufficient hunter. If you don't, then I really feel sorry for you to.
-
Oh, I will give this post the prize for being the most ridiculous of the month here. NFA of all people says that "most people are not butchers and have no knowledge how to process a deer". NFA the guy who posts essays, poems, pictures and videos of how he roughs it in the Adirondacks, and then doesn't consider knowing how to process your own deer an important element in being a complete hunter??? WTF?? You tell us how you rough it and then run to the butcher when you shoot that deer once every 10 years?? Now that's funny!! For your information, yes, it actually could be done in a small garage, I've even see a dude drag his deer 3 flights to his apartment and butcher it up in his bathtub. Where there is a will, there is a way. You guys just want to kill, brag about it, and don't want to do any other real work afterwards. That's about all there is to it really.
-
Sorry to see that there are as many sensitive souls on here as in an all girls grammar school. You can do whatever you please. You can even hire a helicopter to air lift it out of the woods for you. You dudes will be the first to thump on your chests when you make a kill and then tell the world about it, but then you don't want to take the time or get you hands a little dirty the butcher the damned thing up yourselves. Many these days don't even have a clue on how to do it. Quite pathetic in my opinion, and you guys fall short of being complete hunters. My condolences.
-
Another thing that these pictures tell me is that their must be very few hunters who butcher deer themselves these days. Yeah, it takes a bit of time and effort, but a heck of a lot is lost in the whole process of hunting if one has someone else do the butchering. Hell, hunters don't want to walk to their stands on foot anymore. Forget about dragging without an ATV. These pictures tell us they surely don't want to butcher either, so I guess pulling the trigger and killing is the only thing hunters want to do. Quite sad when you stop and think about it.
-
Don't care to find out. Seeing a pile of deer laying in the sun on a warm day is all I need to know. I am far from a professional butcher, yet had a deer skinned and quartered a couple hours after it was shot. I don't need to pay these so called "professionals" to do a worse job than I could do myself.
-
If there was ever a reason why people SHOULDN'T use deer processors, your pictures would be it! I don' t care how reputable the processor is. No one would convince me that the processor can guarantee someone will be getting their own meat back after a scene like in your pictures. This processor looks like he has way more deer than he will be able to handle.

Regular season Opening weekend. How'd you do?
steve863 replied to DanceswithSkunks's topic in General Hunting
Jeez, I wish I had a dollar for every time you've told us this! LOL Could take the whole family out to the movies with the money. -
I tell you one thing. Anyone who claims that they would PASS a deer that they really wanted to kill just because it was 2 minutes before or after sunrise/sunset is a big fat LIAR. You can try to convince me until you are blue in the face that you wouldn't, but I still wouldn't believe you. Some of you start counting down for deer season in freaking April, and have wet dreams over big bucks all year round, and then you would PASS that deer if it came around a few minutes before or after legal shooting time. I say BS to that, and you guys damned well know it, but none of you are man enough to admit it. Not promoting illegal activity here, just spelling out the truth of the matter here.
