  1. Hey man, to each their own. I have to side with finfeather on this one. I just dont like to feel like im being sneaky about an area while im hunting. My rule of thumb is that if i dont feel comfortable leaving my truck out where im hunting, and need to get dropped off or park in a "legal" area just to walk to a questionable area then im not hunting there.
  2. Nice! I dont know if the camo pattern on the baby seat goes with bufflehead territory though. You might have to modify that. ;D
  3. 710.30 is also a statement form used by police when taken a written or oral statement about an incident that occurred. Basically the who, what, when and where that a person must sign for the charge to be brought on the trespasser. An officer can’t just merely lock you up for being on someone else’s property it’s a citizen’s arrest and things like 710.30 and affidavits must be completed. Let me guess you got your definition of 710.30 from Google, right?
  4. If someone owns land they are not required to put up posted signs to keep people off. If you are caught on that "PRIVATE" property and the owner are willing to sign a trespass affidavit and write out a statement 710.30 the trespasser will be charged with it. I know this for a FACT!
  5. Headed back out tomorrow for a full day of shedd'in
  6. oh god no! He tags along. Last year he did find what was left of a nice buck. As bad as it smelled though i think anything with a nose would have found it.
  7. and learn how to spell its SAILS not SALES your not buying something
  8. damn Geno you got some serious anger issues from reading some of your posts. I could give a rats ass about you and your ethics.
  9. Its still a waste of a deer. Doubt very much if that was a doe and it was found 6 days later it would be dragged out. It would be left right there. And to say you would feel the same way if you found it the day you shot it or 6 days later as you swat the flys and maggets away is BS. Your right bad shots happen to everyone and yes i give him credit for looking for it that long but JUST FOR ME its still a wast of a deer and i didnt accomplish what i set out to do and that is number one put meat in the freezer.
  10. 6 days later..... Really nice rack, but im not sure i could brag about a buck that took me 6 days to find. Kind of a waste.
  11. Cant beat good old fashion stuffers.
  12. The left over fish racks work amazing for bringing in all sorts of critters
  13. Full choke would work fine. I shoot 2's or 4's. I had no problem out to 40yrds.
  14. yeah used a shotgun. No rifles are allowed on long island and i have shot one with a bow but that was pure luck. Shotgun even the odds and with a modified choke you have a little room for error. And as far as buckshot even if it was legal i wouldnt use it. The pelt would be worthless
  15. I shot two fox last friday. Just walk around in the snow find some fresh tracks and if you have a rabbit squell you are set. I saw five all together that morning but was only able to get shots off at the two. The others were to far or saw me before i could get the shot off. They are very smart/quick.
  16. Just pulled the camera couple decent survivors.
  17. most cameras still have a little red light and a slight glow when they go off. And them knowing that its there is one thing. I think that sudden burst of light is what spooks some deer.
  18. Long Island. The problem is that the bucks destroy the young saplings (rubs)and does and bucks eat just about anything thats green in the nursery. The nursury manager said last year alone they lost over $60,000 in damaged trees to bucks rubbing.
  19. Back to the NP's, i know the ones we have on the nursery are buck or doe and the permit is good for one full year and then it must be renewed. Obviously you must check in before going out and then when you are done. And any bucks taken the head must be turned into the DEC this way there is no trophy hunting going on with the permits.
  20. what body of water were you shooting and how bout some pics?
  21. plan for cold, and lots of wind. and the check station is off the old hwy. usually they have signs at the front of the little paved road leading into it.
  22. yeah, that was the island. I think the Dec. rut is sometimes better because there are less options for the bucks and makes them travel more and further to find the does that have not been bred yet. Just my opinion.
