The anti ARs and the dec is making the assumtions. I'm going by what I experience. And yes THEHUNTER we are seeing many more older deer after a few years in place

If that is the only thing you consider proof there are major flaws in that type of proof. My experience in where I hunt is proof to me and to the others who hunt these areas. I use what the dec is listing and am showing you that they believe that many more yearlings are surviving, the same "proof" that you are showing me.

Let me ask you this. How does the DEC determine the age of the bucks that I shoot. They are posting these graphs by age structure as if they asked everyone on their tag how old their deer was. How is an assumption proof in any way? To me what the DEC is posting is an assumption due to how many points you write on your tag or their occational visit to a processing center. If that is proof to you go with it. To me thats an assumption. I'm talking only based on my experiences on where I hunt and friends and family in these areas that are seeing the same change I am.

That proves that many more year and a half old bucks survived to become older. What are you trying to show me?

Just about everyone talking all this crap. And I really believe its crap, has no idea what it was like to what it is today. If you dont hunt these areas you dont know what it was like. Its that easy. The only proof I need is from Experience in where I hunt. I'm glad we have it and I'm sure your glad you dont. Why would you want it to end in an area that doesnt even affect you?

Larry you cant compare your hunting zone with the southern catskill zone where ARs were implemented. The hunting preasure in these AR areas is extremely high compared to western NY. There is also alot more farmland in western NY. The soil in western NY is also better where you hunt. You are comparing apples to oranges. Noone is telling you that you need them in your area, and you cant tell me that they arent needed or werent needed in our area cause you dont know. For some to be so against something that doesnt affect them in any way is crazy.

How do you measure better hunter? Should I shoot everything? Kill the first thing that steps out? Does that make me a better hunter? I want to become a better hunter please tell me how I accomplish this

I think its the other way around. Its more of a numbers game for hunters like you than the person who wants a rack. The more you shoot the happier you will be.

My neighbors had their treestands on the property lines before I owned my property. I put treestands on my property one on the property line close to the neighbors stand,but I know that my neighbor doesnt bowhunt so I use that stand only during bow season. They were there before I was. My neigbors also know that they can shoot and track deer over the property line and same goes for me. Mutual respect with the neighbors has been a great thing. Noone gets mad at each other and the opportunity can be the same for everyone.

Yes, but either way we look at it Whether pro or against ARs You still have people not satisfied. They cant make everyone happy. I'm sure that the license increase did make alot of people unhappy and like you said there is already data of hunter loss. Instead of intising a new hunter with a new program or lowering the hunter age for what the parent feels is the appropriate time or lowering the license fees. They raise the cost at a horrible time. I think the economics class 101 was missed on their call for raising license cost. Supply and demand. probably the most important topic.
