From what I know happened to a friend, a pistol has to stay a pistol a rifle can go from rifle to shotgun to muzzleloader. He had to buy a pistol and register it as a pistol, then he bought a rifle and another frame so that he could put long barrels on it. Not that they didnt fit, just for legal reasons.

My mother would always tell me to get my priorities staight! Now I know what my priorities are, Hunting! Come this time of year it is all I think of. Being an Ex-New Yorker now living in California I make it a priority that I know that I'm in NY for just about the entire deer hunting season(just about every weekend). I sometimes just fly to get one day of hunting in and fly back home. Its a long trip back and forth but I do it with a smile and no sleep cause of the excitement it brings. I miss only being 3 hours away from my hunting property but hope to be that close one day soon. Tomorrow is a long travel day probably around 11 1/2 hours of flying and driving without the waiting around. I will probably not be able to sleep until after my morning hunt on Saturday cause of excitement. We are all blessed to be able to do what we enjoy.. Happy hunting everyone! Good luck and be safe.

Culver, Does the frame need to be registered under the pistol permit in any way? Cause I was under the assumtion that If you buy it as a pistol it stays as a pistol, if you buy it as a rifle, it stays as a rifle shotgun or muzzleloader. Even though they are interchangeable, I thought that it couldnt be changed from pistol to rifle for legal reasons.

Tomorrow I can check my TC prohunter. Does the barrel have serial numbers or does the frame have them. I bought my prohunter as just a frame and later bought the barrel. When I bought the frame I could swear there was a serial number on it. I could be wrong but I think the frame of a TC has the numbers on it.

From what I know you cant. It has to be bought as a handgun to be declared a handgun. Only reason why I said this is cause a friend of mine had to buy both , rifle and handgun TC prohunter 2 frames

I have to go to sleep early. 430 am wakeup shower and straight to the airport. Long travel day tomorrow. 1 1/2 hours w traffic to the airport, 6 hour flight to JFK, 1 hour drive to Long Island to say hello to Mom and sister and then another 3 hour drive up to my place upstate, Finally some sleep and wake up and hunt.

Were you able to find any blood? If the deer got hit in the liver and left overnight it should be dead somewhere nearby. If it wasnt pushed normally withing a couple hundred yards.

Nice going, hope you find him. My friend has gone out 6 times already and has seen 4 different eight point bucks, 3 big ones and a smaller eight point. He hasnt been able to get them in close enough for a shot. He will be trying again tomorrow.

I'm working on moving back. She is ready to go but we are waiting on getting things straightened out with one of the businesses. Its hard with a partner in business. Or as soon as I can get a really good job in NY, I wont let it go and not take the job. I will give my business partner everything and leave. Its only 9 weeks out of 52. The other half has to understand. When deer hunting is over then I find an excuse for small game and waterfowl. I do my best not to be married during any type of hunting season. Luckily she understands and is envious that I love hunting so much. She is still trying to find something she loves to do as much as I do.

With pictures already posted on the sight it seems to me it has already started(bucks sparring). I'm thinking of actually trying some rattling this year. Not sure how intense it should be since I have never done it.

What are the laws on cats and dogs? Do they have to have a collar on them? How do you distinguish what is feral and what isnt? Pet cats are one thing, but feral cats will destroy alot of small game in the area they are in.

When you have alot of does around it pulls in bucks from other surrounding areas that you havent seen before. You could have the trail camera out all of september and as soon as the pre rut starts you will have new bucks in the area. I like my trail cameras cause of the excitement sometimes before the hunt. Just to see the possibilities of one can have in the area when the season starts. I sometimes put them out in may and keep them out till the end of muzzleloader. It doesnt give an advantage but it does bring excitement.

Does it cut branches on the way to the deer or are they working on that one also?

I'm serious If you have one I would love to check it out. It completely eliminates human error. I would love to never miss too.

Do you have a bow that holds itself up aims at the deer and then shoots it all by itself. When did those come out?

I have not had any negative experiences wearing my camo. It can only sway someone to want to wear it also.

Steve, It would be more of a reason for me to wear camo, but I dont care what someone else believes in. Its their right and its also our to believe and advertise what we believe in. They are not seeing it as you returning the favor.
