Thank You! Never tried pushing it on anyone, just trying to say the difference it has made. For someone to say that it isnt working and never hunted the areas and is only looking at the report their own way is wrong. I support it and I am happy to have it in our area now. Opportunity for a legal buck is higher today than before from what I see. These reports dont say why the harvest is 300 less than before. Could it be that more people are holding out for the bigger buck they have been seeing? I know I am reguardless of tag soup. I know the opportunity is there thou.

So you do understand that 77 percent of the entire 3h and 3k is not really going to change but plus or minus a few percent? Reguardless if its 327 or everyone in these zones. The percentage cant change much

The fact that they only asked the people in the AR zones.. What else you need an explanation for? If 77 percent of those people im my AR zone Were for it. How much more of a difference would it be if they asked everyone in the AR zone and had to repond. Numbers are proportional to each other. + or - a few percent. What else?

What numbers are you using here. The entire state? yea roughly 566,000 hunters in the state and we swear the 327 responses (or .0005% of hunters) to a survey are all we need to go on. Let me go a little further, in 3J+C that is .00029% of total hunters and in 3H+k thats .00027% of total hunters. A state with over 19 million residents and 327 is the best they can do. Read what you wrote. Dont try making people look like an idiot when you dont know what your talking about

Go and read all of your other calculations. You are using all the wrong numbers.

Your numbers are correct but the 2 percent wasnt needed cause they only asked a percentage of the AR zone and not the rest of the hunters. If 77 percent of the people responded were for it in that area, How much do you think it would change if everyone in the area had to respond? + or - a few percent? I doubt that their percent error is more than that if everyone in these areas had to repond. These numbers are all proprotional to each other.

I wish ARs werent needed as they are not in most of the state from what I hear from others. In the area I hunt which we all know is an AR zone, was it fair for the hunter that wanted to shoot a bigger buck but never had the opportunity to cause they really werent around? I use to shoot smaller bucks and was kind of upset when these restrictions were coming to the area but after a few years of experiencing the difference in the deer we are seeing older and bigger bucks. For the person that the rack doesnt matter the opportunity is still there to shoot a 5 or 6 point 1 1/2 year old deer. Honestly there is alot of them around now. I really believe the the opportunity to shoot a legal buck has increased but many people in these areas are holding out for the bigger one as I do now. That is up to the hunter now in these areas. It really isnt a bad thing. I can only talk from experience in my hunting and from fellow hunters in the area. I never tried to convince you guys that you should have it in your area only trying to say that it has improved the hunting in these areas.

Bow Holder for tree and also one for your ATV, suggestions?
Fairgame replied to burmjohn's topic in Bow Hunting
I have those on my stands also. They work great. I believe sportsmans guide had them on sale. No problems at all in the wind. They are stiff so the wind doesnt move them. -
Nice! Good luck!

I like the fact that he is speaking up for something that has been doing what it was put in place to do and that is give more bucks the opportunity to reach 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 years old in an area that most bucks were never making it to 2 1/2. Shooting the first buck that walked by reguardless of size was not letting these bucks age at all in an area that has a high hunter number. Before it all happened I probably would have to wait ten years before you would see a 2 1/2 year old buck forget about harvesting one. It wasnt even a possibility. You could have trail cameras out and never see any older bucks on it. Now it has changed. Reguardless if people that are not in these areas want to believe it or not, it works for the people that have it and have seen a difference. Your whole PETA comment he will probably tell you to shove it. And before you say it to me SHOVE IT.

Doc, this is what I found from the DEC website The antler restriction program was initiated in 2005 in WMUs 3C and 3J and in WMUs 3H and 3K in 2006 based upon strong local support among hunters. DEC is evaluating the impact of the pilot antler restriction by monitoring changes evident in the deer harvest and by monitoring hunter attitudes through survey work conducted by the Human Dimensions Research Unit at Cornell University

Where do you see a problem with the habitat? and why is it a problem with letting more bucks to 2 1/2 years old live and control the population with the does.

Doc, I agree that the ARs are probably not a priority to the DEC in areas that dont have them. But I also believe that they are looking at hunter satisfaction in the areas that do have them. If a majority of hunters werent satisfied they would of taken them away. In these areas there is a high support for ARS. There wouldnt be a high support if the hunters in these areas wouldnt of noticed a difference for the better. Hunter satisfaction is a priority for the DEC.

Its funny how people that dont hunt the area and are against it are telling the people in the area that hunt it that its not working. Easy math 1+1=2 2+2=4 2-2=0 1-1=0 If you let them go they will grow
