Dude, he's a beauty!!! Gonna be hard to beat that one!!
-
Haven't seen any chasing, daytime activity, or bucks showing any interest in does yet in my area of 8F. A few hot scrapes just opened up recently and cam activity has picked up at the scrapes. New blood moving through. Nothing during daylight hours though. The woods have been dead and very discouraging during my hunts...
-
Congrats! Made the experience even cooler having your son there too!
-
He's just saying, "Come and get me"!!

I hunt in 8F and it has been sucking rocks! Just seems to be a different world than what everyone else has been seeing and reporting. Scrapes on my property just started opening up in the past week. Only 3 active scrapes that I know of. Should have seen a lot more in their usual spots, but nothing yet. Sightings and cam action this year has been pathetic! Just started getting activity at my mock scrapes. Haven't seen any bucks on the move, no daytime activity, no chasing, or no grunting (at least that I've seen or heard of in the area). Hope things pick up for you.

That's not a spike.... this is a spike!

If there's such a thing as a "trophy spike", that would be one of 'em! LOL -
Too bad that 2nd photo isn't just a little better. That would help determine if it's the same one. Sure looks like it, but......?
-
What a monster! Would love to hear that story!
-
Yeah, I've had to resort to nailing on new ones, as they break them off! I hate to lose my best mock scrape locations, that they use year after year!
-
Sound like my year so far! Been running cams since April. Only 4 young bucks all summer and less does than I've ever seen. Been out hunting exactly 15x now and I've only seen 1 buck, 1 doe, and 5 fawns (could have been the same ones multiple times)! VERY frustrating! Having so few around this year, I hate to shoot anything, so my kids (14 &18) have a chance at something. Cam activity at scrapes has picked up dramatically in the past few days! Been seeing some new blood moving through! Hoping the sightings while hunting will pick up now too...
-
Ouch! Didn't realize you already shot one... Enjoy the show anyway!

Yeah, what's the story?? Throw me a bone!

Congrats Joe! Looks like a heafty 'ole girl! LOL

FINALLY a Good Buck! (Scrape Video)
Cabin Fever replied to Cabin Fever's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Getting warmer!! Got him passing within 12 yards of one on my stands Thursday evening at 6:33pm and Friday evening at 6:26pm!! I'll be there this evening (Saturday)!! Hoping a little rattling and grunting or a hot doe might bring him by a little earlier one of these evenings! After he passes this stand, he's been heading to a HOT scrape ~400 yards away. Looks like he's been getting there between 7:00-7:30 the past 2 nights. (BTW, have the cam set for 30 sec videos, but it's only doing 9sec videos, because the batteries are weak in this cam! Gonna change them this afternoon!) -
Not unusual. As long as there's an overhanging branch of some kind, they'll use it! Even seen them improvise and use grapevines as an overhanging branch! LOL

New 9 at one of my scrapes - Last night 11/1
Cabin Fever replied to Steve7's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
He's a nice one! My scrapes have been getting a lot of activity over the past few days! New bucks showing up every night! The only daytime activity have been little 4 & 5pts, so far. -
That sucks! I hope you just moved it and will remember where later. I've done that before or have taken it home to put new batteries in and just forgot about it there.
-
So that's what happened to all those "stolen" cams!
-
He's a nice one! Fattening up and getting that swollen neck! Getting to be about that time!
-
Perfect example of why I don't bowhunt in the rain. Not worth the risk of losing an animal. Sometimes bloodtrails are hard enough to follow in good weather. Add rain and things usually don't turn out so well...

Try looking on YouTube for the harness that you have for proper adjustment. Please, don't take any chances.... Trust me! Been there, done that!!
-
I bought HSS Pro Series for myself and my 2 kids. If I was in the market for a new harness, I would go with one of the newer ones that isn't so big, bulky, and heavy. You know, the stream-lined versions! Just the harness, without the whole vest/material.
