  1. Congrats! She's a big one!
  2. Sad. I've had a couple personal experiences with ECO's over the past 30 years. Sadly enough, it seems you're guilty, until proven innocent. Start with checking license, then they'll try their best to dig until they find something... anything! Many years ago, I went squirrel hunting with a friend. He either dropped an "empty" box of .22 shells on the ground or it just fell out of the car when we got our stuff out. I picked it up and tossed it on my backseat. Weeks later, I went bowhunting. When I returned to my car after a bowhunt, 2 ECO's were there waiting for me. They demanded I show them where the .22 was! HUH?? I'm bowhunting! They grilled me, telling me they KNEW I had a .22 with me while bowhunting and demanded I show them and started telling me what all was going to happen to me!! I was 18 at the time and this was my first encounter with any kind of law enforcement! I was crapping my pants and told them over and over again, that I did NOT have a .22 with me! They made me take them to my treestand and they searched the entire area! After an hour or so of interrogating me and searching, they decided to try the good cop/bad cop approach. The one ECO pulled me aside and said that they saw the box of .22 shells on the backseat floor and they "KNEW" I had a .22 out there! I told him my friend dropped the empty box on the ground weeks ago while squirrel hunting and I just picked it up and threw it in my car, as to not litter! And THIS was the THANKS that I got for it!?!?!? He talked to the other ECO, they got in their car and left! NO apologies, NO nothing!!! Last summer, my 18 year old son went bullhead fishing with a few friends. An ECO approached them and said he wanted to see everyones license. I bought my son a Lifetime Sportsmans license years ago. He pulls out the NY Lifetime Sportsmans License card, that the DEC sent him that has his ID# and everything on, that they said to carry as proof. He handed it to the ECO and the ECO yelled, "I said I want to see your fishing license!!" My son told him that IS his fishing/sportsmans license. The ECO actually looked at it then and responded, "Oh, I guess I haven't seen enough of the lifetime licenses yet." (No apologies, No nothing!) My son said that everyone had their licenses and he grilled them about anything he could, but no one was doing anything wrong. (They were fishing for bullheads for crying out loud, no limit or size restrictions!) He said the ECO practically made one 13 year old kid cry, not believing the kid was too young to need a fishing license! He said the ECO was such a dick and when he left, he never said anything positive. (Good luck boys, enjoy yourselves, etc...) NOT good PR, that's for sure!
  3. Congrats on your first! Bet you didn't expect him to be back so soon!
  4. You've been putting your time in Vince! It will all come together for you one of these days!
  5. Interesting how the OP dropped this turd, then left the discussion. Just trolling, I guess....
  6. Yeah, he was there at 4:48am. I was climbing in the stand 75 yards from there (but within sight and it looks like he came from there) at 6:30am! There is a jungle of a thicket ~5' behind where he is standing. I hunted there yesterday afternoon until dark, thinking if he bedded in there yesterday after the video, I might catch him coming back out. No such luck. He's probably just passing through, like so many others do this time of year.
  7. That must have been exciting to watch! Congrats!
  8. Been looking at trailcam pics and videos from last fall, to see if he was one that was around my property last year too. Hard to tell though...
  9. Nice bucks! Some good motivation to get out of bed in the mornings!
  10. The trooper should have set up a trailcam to catch the thief coming back to get the bike!
  11. This is the first good buck I've seen so far all year. I made a mock scrape here ~10 days ago and keep it freshened, every couple of days. I make one in this same spot every year and it gets a lot of attention during the rut.
  12. There's enough "Fight Starter" threads on this site, without you purposely instigating one. I hope members have sense enough not to bite! There have been many posts already about how members feel about AR. If you spend some time reading on the forum, you will find out how members feel about AR, if you really care or just want to kick a hornets nest for your enjoyment. Really NO need to get another post started about it!
  13. They were catching the perch right off the pier, so no boat needed. Post up a report when you go for trout! Good luck!
  14. I assume you mean in Geneva? If so, I haven't heard of any. Did hear that they were catching some big perch there recently though!
  15. Love it when there's a happy ending! Congrats to your son! BTW, curious what broadhead he was using? How far did it go? Seems like it would have been throwing some blood!
  16. I drive by there just about every day and haven't seen any sign of life for months now.
  17. Had to stop to let a big mature buck cross the road in front of me on my way to camp this morning. Beautiful buck! He never looked, stopped, or had any concern, just slowly walked across the road in front of me. Of course, that got me excited for the morning hunt! Never saw a thing from the stand though (other than a coyote)! Figures...
  18. Better get all the sleep you can now!
  19. Happy Birthday! Hope you get to celebrate by warming your hands in a fresh gutpile!
  20. Deer urine scents aren't always your friend and can work against you. Don't understand why, but does just go on high alert sometimes when they smell an unfamiliar doe. Doesn't seem like it would be that uncommon for them to cross the path of an unfamiliar doe, but they get very uneasy. Bucks are cool with it, but not does... strange. I've used deer urine on drag lines and scent wicks that have screwed up many hunts! Every year I swear I'm not going to use them, but I usually do a few times anyway! Hard to resist trying.... kind of like my rattlebag!
