Cabin Fever

I LOVE the triggerstick monopod!! Bought one for my son too! Quick, smooth, quiet adjustment! Believe it or not, the monopod is rock steady! Where it REALLY shines is in a treestand, where you don't have much room to screw around with worrying about both legs being positioned on the stand and them not falling off the platform grates! Especially when a deer is running in and you don't have time to screw around, worrying about positioning 2 legs on the stand! Really nice in a turkey blind too, when you're sitting up on a stool, as it helps support the weight of the heavy gun. Can be cumbersome to carry in all the time, but well worth it!!! Actually want to rig up a shoulder strap or something for it before season this year.

I must admit, I have some concerns about my camp, and the use of rifles now. My cabin is about 1/4-1/2 mile back off the road almost 1/2 way back through the huge woodlot. It's within ~100 yards of the far back corner of my property (previous owner built it there), so adjoining land is close. People, including some adjoining neighbors, don't even know it's there and I would like to keep it that way (No break-ins in the past 14 years). Hate to have to worry about my kids or myself throwing on orange, just to go outside, when grabbing firewood, using the outhouse, going to the shed, etc... But, the area is about as flat as a pancake around there....

+1 There are some people on the forum you would like to share a campfire with. Some you would give up your chair for. Some that would need their own chair. Others that you would never want to be around!! I think we all have people in mind for each category...

I hope they find whoever did this and use a similar arrow to give him a colonoscopy with!

Came to work today for the first time in a week. I commute 1hr, each way, crossing through 8J and 8F. Not even 1 deer hit laying along the road! Very unusual/unheard of for the 1st week of Nov. (6th)!!

Made my trigger finger all nervous and jerky just watching that!

The 8pt and 10pt are regulars at all my cams. Never any daytime pics or videos of them... yet. They've been working the edge of the thicket (right behind them in the videos), where I have mock scrapes, quite a bit recently. These videos have sound, so turn up the volume.

Interesting. Just goes to show how not every area in NY is the same or on the same schedule! You've already seen a lot of chasing and activity too from what I remember? The few scrapes that I've been seeing aren't quite at peak activity yet (from hunting and camming this spot for the past 14 years), but they are getting a lot of night time activity now! I haven't seen (cams or hunting) ANY chasing, bucks with does, hearing grunting, daytime activity, or stupid-eyes-glazed-over-big-rutting-necked bucks yet either! Should be very soon though....

Just looked at the calendar and realized that this coming weekend (9th & 10th), is the last weekend of bowseason! Better quit goofing around and shoot something!
