  1. Connected already!? Nice! That takes some of the pressure off!
  2. I'm gonna bite... What is the sissy truck? Did I miss something??
  3. Hi John! We can use all the 8F'ers we can get around here! Be sure to give us some updates! Good luck!!
  4. Very nice!! Hope he hangs around til gun season for ya!
  5. Nice! Another 8F'er!! Keep us updated!
  6. I can see apples or other fruit, being sweet, but I guess I never considered them eating an ear of field corn.
  7. I was on my way to work this morning and a red fox ran across the road in front of me. It had something in it's mouth. By the size of it, I assumed it was a rabbit. Just before it made it across the road, it dropped whatever it was carrying. I was curious, so I pulled over to take a look with the headlights. It was an ear of corn!! I guess I never thought of a fox eating corn before! I've done some searches and I guess it's common, there are even trailcam pics posted of fox carrying ears of corn. HUH....
  8. You didn't practice with it, before going hunting on opening morning?? The more you use it and become familiar with it, the easier it'll get.
  9. They are cool little critters! I've never heard them make a noise, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do. I've had people tell me about having something living in their attic. They kept describing hearing "thud" sounds on the sides of their house, like kids throwing tennis balls against the walls. I ended up catching flying squirrels. The "thud" sounds are from the flying squirrels gliding out of trees and landing on the sides of the house or roof. They are nocturnal and very active all night! NOT something you want living in your attic and walls! LOL
  10. Great buck!! Congrats! If you make a photobucket acct ( http://photobucket.com/ ), you can just copy and paste the link into the post, and the photo appears.
  11. Happy Birthday!! Go out and whack one today! (BTW, when I say "whack one", I mean a deer.... )
  12. Never seen one or ever heard of any around here.
  13. Hope all goes well with that! Quartering to shots can be difficult (single lung, guts)....
  14. Maybe he's just a late bloomer. Last year, my neighbor sent me pics of a huge buck on October 18th that was just starting shed its velvet. Very unusual...
  15. I think time to air out is all you can do to get rid of paint odor. A week or so outside should do it.
  16. Not lucky enough to have any oaks, possibly within a mile or so! I've talked to about every landowner in the area and no one has any oaks! I planted several gobbler sawtooth oaks a few years ago, but none are old enough to start producing yet. I have one (the biggest) that is producing what looks like acorn "caps" on some branches and I was told that was a sign that it will produce acorns next year, but I don't know.? My property is bordered by triticale, apple orchards, corn fields, and ~500 yards away is a soybean field. Not to mention my foodplots (clover, chicory, alfalfa, WW, WR, & oats). They have lots to choose from! Maybe they're too FULL to eat the apples?
  17. Nice! He's got a sweet tooth for those apples!
  18. I probably would have been screaming like a little girl, having that happen in the dark!
  19. Maybe it was bats, doing you a favor, and keeping the skeeters away from your head!
  20. WHOOPS! Maybe I should have posted this a little later (after daylight) for all those guys that are sitting in their stand right now logging in on their phone! Probably don't want to be reading about a bear attack, while sitting in their stands in the dark!
