I went for my first trip to Pulaski for the salmon run last year. I had a great time but I was very unprepared. Im looking to get a complete set-up from scratch for CHEAP....like walmart stuff. I dont know if I'll be able to make it up there after this year or not, so I dont want to invest a lot of money. Searching on the walmart website I found a pair of TEXSPORT stocking foot waders, and I see they have some felt sole boots. Some things I know I need help with are a rod, reel, polarized glasses, hooks, and bait. I just want to go up there for the day and enjoy the experience, and not regret missing a day in the deer stand Thanks

Can semi-automatic pistols with a ten round clip still be bought in NY after this new law? -
I live in an area where center fire rifles are legal to hunt deer. Its all in how you read this one paragraph You may hunt furbearers with a rifle chambered in any cartridge, except that during any open season for deer - including archery, muzzleloading and regular seasons - you may not possess a centerfire rifle afield, during the day or night, to hunt wildlife, including furbearers in any county or portion of a county where deer hunting with rifles is prohibited during the regular deer season. from how I read it, I can't shoot a coyote anytime during deer season

Can a center fire rifle be used to hunt coyotes during bow season? Can you hunt coyotes at night during regular deer season?

BTW i was only on the doxy for 14 days last year

Well I have to say thanks Dom! When I read your post last week, it made me finally call my doc for an appt. After some blood tests, they called back a few days ago and gave me the news...I have lyme for the second time. I am also on doxy for 21 days. I dont know if its still from when I was diagnosed with it the exact same time last year or not, but I got it again. Just as before I never pulled a tick out of me. After having it last year, I have been very diligent in checking for ticks on my body. I even have the wife check places that I can not see.

I was diagnosed with lyme last year. I had a huge rash on my waist, so I went to the doctor and they gave me antibiotics after the test came back. I'm 29 and have always been in great shape and health, last two weeks I have had aches and pains in places that have never bothered me before, and flu like symptoms.....Im calling my Doc Thanks for the post Dom, hope you get well

Can I use my muzzleloader tag for bow season?

They both say Bow/MZ (either sex)?? -
When I had my land split off a larger parcel, all they used was gps. My land is adjacent to 3 separate property owners also, so the line had to be exact. When you cant see the center line of the nearest road, or have any established corner post, I would say gps is the most accurate way.

So what is the difference from the sportsmans to the carry concealed? What county? I have a carry concealed, but with a recreational only stamp on it. So I cant carry it at all unless I am hunting, hiking, target shooting, snowmobiling...ect -

Thanks Early I did some research on round up just now. I guess it is only absorbed through the leaves of plants, and not through the soil. The stuff we can buy in the store is much different than what is sprayed on farmers crops.

Will it hurt the trees?

How can I keep the undergrowth out of the woods around my yard? Every summer I get these weeds that grow like 3-4 feet tall. They seam to hold water, so when you walk through them you always get soaked. The woods right now is nice and open, and I would like to keep it that way all summer. Isn't there a plant call myrtle or something that i can plant? Thanks

Has anyone tried to make pulled venison? What cut of meat would work best? All I have is a whole leg in the freezer that I have not cut up yet. Would I be able to take a large cut of meat off and put it in the crock pot, just like a pork butt? Would it pull apart like the pork butt? Thanks

My first handgun was a 44mag. Shoot it until you feel comfortable in taking an animal. I took a buck with mine this year at 30yds with open sights.

Smothering or burning a tick could make it release fluid-which could be infected-into your body and increase your chance of infection. They only way they should be removed is with a pair of tweezer or a tick key. Talk to a doctor or look up it up in some medical websites.

If you read up on the Castle Doctrine in NY, that should answer most questions about defending yourself at home
