  1. i have heard of tine marks in the dirt of scrapes, indicates a monster buck. most likely from there feet.
  2. I'll shoot any size doe, they all taste good, I try to let younger bucks walk but sometimes if I don't have a doe in the freezer I'll shoot. I hunt to enjoy that delicious meat.
  3. Just bought a climber, here's to trying new hunting spots!
  4. Nice buck there! A monsoon hit me at 940 and I left, no raingear today.
  5. Surprised i havnt seen anything yet, in my funnel area from food to beds. Usually always see deer here in the morning. Hopefully they move through here soon!
  6. i cannot wait to get 20 feet up in 40mph wind gusts tomorrow morning!

    Rut!

found 10-15 scrapes in the normal areas i hunt and find them each year. 20-30 different rubs. mostly smaller trees and all seem to be done on the side of the trees they enter the field from. Makes me think i need to hunt mornings there more often. Camera is now on the main scrape in the field that i had 12 different bucks visit last year.
  8. I messaged dec, a guy responded said he confident the doe was 10 years plus but again confirmed the only official way to tell is through Matson labs
  9. broad heads still sharp and straight. they went right back in his quiver. i now carry 3 rage hypo and 3 slingblades.
  10. i bought these last year, i was hunting with a friend this year and he has shot 2 does with these heads, one double lung and one heart shot. both times ribs were broken on both sides and there were close to 2 inch holes, and great blood trails. I have since picked up 4 packs of these while they were on rebate for 14.99. Such a simple yet effective design at a great price.
  11. i think I'm going to send them out to get officially aged when I get the $, it makes me more interested everyday I look at them. I have already dried them and cleaned them up but not bleached as I did not want to ruin the teeth.
  12. Popped out for magic hour, I'm surrounded by scrapes and rubs, mostly small trees but what the hell anything can happen.
  13. Well saw a lot of deer bedded in fields on my way to the property I'm at, start waking in and sure as shit 4-5 does jumped up and took off were bedded in the field.
  14. usually cook them as soon as possible, if that means a camp fire then thats what ill do! if not right when i get home.
  15. Saw 2 does, found 8-10 scrapes all torn up in the usually spots, one is on the path to my treestnd, rubs all around my stand that's been threre years, I'll be there tomorrow morning
  16. cant agree with this statement more, i'm not putting xbows down at all but they are much easier to walk into the field and take a deer home with you( eliminating all other factors). I was thinking about getting one myself for late season since i hate bow hunting in bulky winter clothing.
  17. 5/5 here, all died in sight
  18. you think thats a decent price? it has one tiny ding on the cheek weld is all
  19. i held a used rem 700 bdl in .270 today. they wanted 599 for it which i thought was high but it was in excellent shape. nice gun.
  20. The design has been around quite awhile, bass pro gator broadheads as an example. The way they pivot they cannot open just in flight. They do hold snug when closed.
  21. Yup! Picked up another 2 packages. Cannot beat them at $25/3 then a $10 rebate. They make the same hole as my rage hypodermics at 1/3 the price. There sharp as hell out of the box plus the blades are pretty thick.
  22. The best meal, possibly in the world right there.
  23. i need to try this, i got into trout fishing this year on the Delaware and im hooked.
  24. The first deer i ever shot with a bow i literally flew down my tree stand and ran looking for blood. I found blood and no deer. I had no one teach me the things that i know now, and have learned alot on here. I lost that 8 point i believe it was 6 or 7 years ago and have only lost 1 bow deer since then with an obvious shoulder shot with lack of penetration. I usually wait 1 hour, check arrow and see what to do from there.
