Missouri and Kansas are on my list after I do Ohio. Would love to start applying for an Iowa tag but it’s so hard for 2 people that hunt together to be drawn the same year. Also dedicating a week to Long Island this year

At 2 hours in you probably have all the smoke you’re gonna need. You can actually finish it off in the oven using same temp. Lots of guys do that for brisket once their bark is set

Just received my new Hasty Bake Ranger today. This will be strictly my competition grill and I believe it’s gonna be a game changer. Love how you can raise and lower the firebox while cooking. I’m really hooked on SCA comps

I’ll definitely take you up on that offer if there’s ever a comp up that way. Going solo is very hard but thankfully in SCA those people really help each other. I literally couldn’t set up my pop up tent alone and without even asking a few other teams came over and literally just started helping without me even asking. Made a bunch of new friends that day and I’m not the outgoing type. Definitely a good time and a great experience

It was last weekend. Came in 16th which was a huge accomplishment for my first comp. I definitely have to work on time management though. I was like a deer in headlights
