Congratz on the nice buck!! The hole is from prob a ding while in velvet or a bug larvae. I was diagnosed with non Hodgkins Lymphoma in my early 30s been free and clear for over a decade. Came in a daybreak it's just a short trip from back door. Get into blind get my son set up and had a couple yotes come in. The second didn't leave. He started to walk off so I whistled he stopped to look back and caught a rage in the brain. Almost had another that came trailing the dead one. 10/4 pm Hit up Howland Island for evening. Had a crazy trip as we got there and the river was over the banks which made a good 500 yard stretch just past the bridge under water. Little hairy but we made it. I ended up wandering all over. 1st spot wind was bad. Second had a hunter so ended up in a spot I had been up once before. Due to the flooded spring also none of the fields got planted with corn so every field on the island is in weeds. So that is a big deer feed change! I saw two shooter bucks. Both too far out and both didn't want anything to do with calls. My Bro in law was with me as well. He put a great shot on a 6 point. I had a 30-40 minute walk back to truck then another 15 or so to find him and help drag. Very happy for him it's been 8 years since he has got one with the bow. 11/4 am 33 In the tower with my son for 3 hours this morn with the crossbow. Pretty slow but at around 10 we had a 4-6 pointer work by out of range. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well after my 5:10 pm hunter interruption at 5:30 I had another shooter buck come by. Just a bit too far at 52 yards. And he did not care about bleat or grunt. Was not trying snort wheeze again after the one earlier lol. My BIL was out with me as well and took a 6 point so a long drag was had. Best laid plan usually go fubar lol Got to state land for first time this year. It's an island and road in flooded we still made it in. That was hairy! Usually cornfields - none the wet spring flooded roads so bad the could never plant hmmm Hardly anyone here lug my climber to a spot 30 minutes where my brother likes and I did not like wind so hike another 20 minutes to a spot I wanna check out and run into a hunter so back out hike another 20 minutes to an spot behind a used to be cornfield Packed my heavy clothes got up in climber and forgot to put on my heavier lower base layer and ain't going back down and I'm to old to try that up here so if I freeze to death it was nice knowing you all!
