Had a lone flathead go by behind me at sunrise. Too far out. Freaking squirrels are at it. I'm gonna pull a muscle trying to keep looking behind me lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I have had some terribly long drags lol. I usually do what a couple others have said. Carry weapon and gear a few hundred yards then the deer. Back and forth. I shot a nice 10 point way the hell back in a swamp on the back of a pond one year. He was chasing a big doe. She stood around after I shot him so I shot her too. I was with just my father who was quite old. He met me half way through the first drag and carried my gun and coat.Took me three hours to drag him out. Had a sandwitch at the car and another three hours dragging the doe out. Now that was a good sleep that night!! I don't mind the drag. If I did i would not shoot deer that far back. It is some of the experience and is not bad after its done lol. As I get older I do try to work smarter and not harder though.

I see them quite regularily where i live. The past few years we have had nests in a few different spots around the area. I live near 3 Rivers WMA and Eagles like these rivers. You can also go to the Destiny mall in the winter after the lake is frozen. The water treatment plant expels warmer water so there is an open spot that draws in fish and a lot of eagles. There have been close to 20 of them there at times. Most I have seen is 8 or 9 at once.

I have been to the butchers three times in the last week and they have been just slammed. Bucks galore and each time 2-3 absolute pigs 10+ points, spread, mass and just big bodied deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

11/13 pm 57 Out on the ridge above the hole in my bro's stand for 2 hours. It was warm and a squirrel party! Did have one flat come out right at sunset no shot op. Did keep me in stand for a while so I could get out without spooking it on the potato chip leaves. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My bro's buck 2.5 years old. He must have been hit by a car at some point. He had a broken bone in his pelvis. Also some road rash on brisket. He was not limping and seemed otherwise healthy. The toughness of these critters never ceases to amaze me! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The son and I brushed up another ground blind after sitting a while this morn. Then we met up with brother, brother in law and nephew to do some shooting. All the guns are spot on and I think I just lost my 30-30 to the kid! He liked shooting that and shot the heck outa it. We got no excuses if we get some opportunities!! Now out for last watch alone up top where my brother got the 6 the other night. Some does been showing up on the cam and they have been scarce lately! But man it sure is warm. Could not get the young one up so I let him sleep. Woke him at 7:30 and we still hunted down through to my far stand. Ground sitting for a while then pull the cam down here. The card at the other end showed pretty poor movement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Shred into little strips like spaghetti, par boil then cover with a fine red sauce. Oh and serve with a fine red wine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I'd take a few shots to make sure it's still shooting true. After a thorough inspection to make sure nothing cracked. Depending on how hard the limb hit. Better to be safe than sorry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Well the leaves look like here so I imagine loud as hell so if you bumped him he was keeping moving. Did arrow have any gut smell or any color not red? Did you see hit? Pass through? You said 7 mile walk but how far did blood trail go from hot to you losing? And lastly are you experienced tracking? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

How Early Before Sunrise Do You Get In Your Stand?
Fletch replied to buffalojay83's topic in Bow Hunting
I get into stand 45 minutes before sunrise most of the time. Like to get in, let things settle down and watch/ listen to the woods wake up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
