Awesome job on the mount! My father is a taxidermist, I want to learn the trade, I just need a wall hanger first. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

Whoa, 5 bearder! That's awesome, congratulations. What a trophy bird. Not sure if you are in to the whole scoring of your birds but he will score exceptionally well in the NWTF scoring system. Was he shot in NY?

Gongrats pygmy. That would be a sight to see in the turkey woods, a strutting hen.

I took my first bird on Saturday, May 2 with a good friend of mine. We chased these birds all morning long. Once the hens left them, they came right in. This was a first for me, I never thought turkeys would cross a stream and walk up a ravine to find a hen. However, that is exactly what they did. Here we were thinking we needed to get down the ravine and across the streams (this ravine was about a 30 foot drop) when all of the sudden I saw three birds cross the steam and heading right for us. We quickly sat down an contemplated what we should do as we never thought they would come in that quick, but before we could decide the first Tom peeked his head over the ravine only 20 feet away and I put him to rest. He weighed 21 lbs 3 oz., with an 8 1/2" beard and 1 1/4" spurs!! After tagging that bird I decided to take Sunday off and hunt Monday, May 4 with my father. We got to our spot bight and early and never heard a gobble all morning up until 8:30. I decided I was going to check another property we have permission to hunt and my father decided he would stay where we were. I walked into a small plot of woods adjacent to a large field and made a call. He hammered right back and only about 150 yards away. I set up my decoys and made two more series of cluck and yelps and he came in on a string, strutting and gobbling. He came in so fast I wasn't on the property more than 15 mins and I was walking out of the woods with my second gobbler. He weighed 20 lbs. 5 oz., 9 1/2" beard and 1" spurs. What a season, so now what do I do? I've never tagged out this early before. I guess I could do some fishing.

Area: 4C Rut phase: pre-rut/seeking I hunted Tuesday night in a spot over in 4C. Really warm night, not much moving. I found a few scrapes however no rubs. We have been seeing a couple of spike horns and a fork horn with decent main beam length. No chasing yet. One spike came in on a doe bleat and checked a mock scrape then quickly left nose to the ground. Rut shouldn't be too far off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This spring I was fortunate enough to harvest a turkey and have always wanted to make a wing bone call. This is something I have never tried to make before but thought that it would be a fun side project. Well, here is the final product. Now if I could only figure out how to get a decent sound out of it, but I have a year to figure that out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah machinist! It would have felt great to tag out on the last day with that gobbler but my buddy has been patient over the three years he has hunted with me and watched me harvest four birds before he took his first bird. It really cool seeing how excited he was when he put the bird down. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
