  1. Do you actually prefer the sound of a fox pro over mouth calls? I've never used one but know with the price tag on them they better sound fantastic....i realize the bennifit of placing the call away from you to help keep eyes off your position
  2. And the snow here is pretty hard noticed the fox are on top of it...think coyotes are to?
  3. I have been thinking same as it's few hundred yards behind my house....does it work good? Do they tend to come in right down the tracks?
  4. Good choice just bought a CVa wolf last season and love it...good shooting gun
  5. Lots of state land in the finger lakes within a hr or 2 of you.... some south of you down toward salamanca also....then most The state parks allow hunting also...just gotta check the dec site
  6. Hope your right grow....they should have a check box for or against ARs at licenceing stations on the licence sight and ask every single licence purchaser to vote...
  7. I learned how to use a electric knife for fish when I was around 10 yrs old....i haven't done it in years as I throw everything back no but I'm sure I could pick right back up at it....was a very easy/convenient way to clean fish...
  8. That's it right there......most of us use the best weapon we can there is very few who actually use traditional equipment...those are the guys who can complain the rest of use have no business arguing about it....
  9. I have always had a tank up till recently....get a good filter set up at least 30 gal tank few bottom feeders...then I always liked Oscars cichlids and blacktip sharks.....Oscars will eat a pretty good sized minnow and worms easy.......BTW as others have said bass I had a 8in smallmouth in my tank for years they are a cool fish to watch but will kill everything in the tank no matter the size....
  10. Thanks for all the tips I will be trying these....I'd hate to buy a new a target as the one I bought was not cheap by any means
  11. Field tips and I just bought a new target specifically for my xbow....damn thing wasn't cheap...i will have to try some lube on them and that's a great idea Grow I actually have some out in the shop I will be trying that....my arrows are burying themselves all the way to fetches at 20 yrds. I'm going to get another thinner target for in front of it to help stop them from ruining my fletching
  12. Any tips to be able to pull arrows out of target easier...just shot it a few times for fun with the boy and arrows are a pain in the a $$ to get out...any tips?
  13. IMO all this is going to do if it's passed it make it so even more deer go untagged or unreported...hope it gets shot down we don't need more rules
  14. I just installed a rice coal stove it's awsome I love it as does my wife it's clean warm and doesn't smell at all. Easy to carry in and dump a 40 lb bag in I'm burning about 60 lb a day at 300 ish a ton should save me a ton of money on my propane bill...i have a Alaskan coal stove hearth model 5k- 85k btu and I've got it turned way down Heating about 1600 sqft. Would however have to get a genny to run it when power goes out bc it requires constant air thru fire box....good luck with choice
  15. Same in hinsdale g man can see where the sleds get in shallow snow and digs up mud....also play in havoc on my roof....ice is building up bigtime
  16. Yea.....i hunt a ton if different state land so unless I haul a climber in I'm limited to the ground and I actually avoid state land durring archery normally for just that reason....hoping to get into some untouched public land for xbow this year
  17. Yea I can't wait to try it....archery season for me is just one where I like to get deer as close as possible as not many bow hunt the properties I hunt so deer have very little pressure so it's fun to have them walk in close....the 2 I shot with my compound last year walked right out to me one was at 10 yrds when I shot other came out at 10 yrds but couldn't get a shot till about 20 or so....pretty cool....had few others come close but either missed or just plain couldn't get a shot....including th e 10 pt I saw first weekend of Nov while walking to my afternoon spot...we both froze 15 yrds from each other but when I drew he ran about 20 yrds and stopped but that wouldn't have happened with a xbow imo....could have pulled up and stuck him....i really look forward to sitting on the ground durring archery season...
  18. Yea the guy said he was hitting the bull at 75 yards and still blowing thru the target....personally I will be limiting myself to normal archery range as part of the thrill of archery season for me is seeing them and getting them that close 40 yrds and less for me. I'm looking forward to being able to hunt from the ground more. I never got good at shooting my compound from a seated position and that always kept me in the trees. Don't have that problem with a xbow. Can't wait to get it out to practice here pretty quick. What target set ups are you guys with xbows using? I know my current compound set up won't hold up as my compound almost leaves the backside already...thanks in advance
  19. Well I hope for full inclusion for you..and good luck with the surgery hope a speedy recovery
