    Trout season

When I was a kid my dad's buddy turned me on to bright color sponge....i use that till flies hatch heavy then start using flies mainly....unless not fly fishing in wich case rooster tails and dare devils are what I use..
  2. 45_70 lever gun....sure could hunt with it I know guys who do but is just a fun one to shoot.....o and everything Belo said too...lol
  3. As a member who hunts a few parcels with out of state owners...it may bennifit you to make friends with a local maybe a guy with a kid or 2 who hunt and would be willing to help post maintain and keep an eye on it overall durring times when your not down there....we do ours strictly for hunting abilities it's a win win for all as we clear paths of fallen trees brush and try and help control the coyote population. O and we also hang a few stands that they use when they are down too.
  4. Nice....mine liked the Hornady sst 2 3/4....i had Bushnell 3x9 on it and was very comfortable to 150....never did get into woods with it as I didn't own it very long....lol
  5. What range you hoping to achieve and what rounds have you decide in...if any yet?
  6. Sweet shooters....i just got rid of same gun in 12g traded it for a xbow....have fun with it they are a great slug gun
  7. As I deer hunt up there every fall....i would give up the chance of ever taking a big woods deer just to see one of those in the wild...wandering thru the woods browsing....man that would be awsome
  8. That was in no way directed at you just so uk...and yes I also believe that as a mentor u should be experienced...but could be a grandfather who no longer hunts but has the grandkids for the weekend and wants to take them out....i believe it should have to have held it before but If not carrying a firearm should not be required to hold a licence at the time....what about a father who can't bow hunt for some reason but kids want to does he have to buy bowhunter licence?
  9. Realistically it's a good point....think about it another way...i take my 4 yr old hunting even tho he cant and won't be carrying a firearm should I have to buy a licence for him to be out there...it's almost same point... my wife now wants to come for the walk also...does she need a licence too?
  10. I think we just had this similar question asked with youth deer hunting and mentoring....
  11. Cosmoline works bit is quite messy....I use it on some motorcycle parts I store in shed and don't want rust works great....old military surplus rifles are coated in it also....biggest down fall is requires complete breakdown and cleaning before use again
  12. Welcome and yes pics of any game from down south would always be cool to see
  13. A buddy from college has been killing them thru the ice on Keuka for a few weeks now....every weekend has some nice pics of the days catch
  14. Just outta curiosity where would your arrow placement be on a turkey....ik where they are on 3d targets but is that accurate....i know they make broadheads specifically for taking off heads?
  15. When I was a kid my parents adopted two pure bred labs from a breeder to give them better homes for last year of lives we had them 5 or 6 years and the breeder had bred them right before we took them in. Apparently the dogs down the road could smell them when they got loose and stood on my parents back porch barking aggressively toward them in the room where they had their puppys....my dad tried to shoo them away but dogs came at him. It was late on the night and he came down and asked for my paintball gun after the cops had givin him permission to dispatch them if nessasary and they were in route. So he came and got me and my paintball guns and we lit them dogs up. They ended up leaving cops took his statement and next day went door to door to the farms around until they found the Orange painted dogs. We didn't not file charges about it bc we didn't end up loosing and puppys in the commotion of the mom jumping around and trying to make sure they were protected but the cops did inform him that if it happened again it would be deadly force not paintballs....idk what got into them thay day as I had seen them while riding my bike by his house durring summer and never had them act aggressively toward me...just goes to show as soon as they are away from masters they can change dramatically...

May try to make the naples derby....crowded as always but a good time with good folks....and opening of Bob and Ruths diner
  18. Yes...I've never seen a feral dog and no nobody who has that would certainly be harder than a cat....as as trapper I catch a few cats every year and make sure no tags and are clearly feral before taking action....but cats are a serious problem thru out the state from what I've experienced.
  19. Ambidextrous also but favor right for everything except soccer pretty equal in leg strength.
