Luckily I don't eat fish so it doesn't bother me. So nope don't get pissed. I get pissed when I pay for my licence and people think it's ok to try and tell me what I can shoot. Not ok killing a 5 yr old is no different than killing a 1.5 they both will breed no difference. Only difference is bone on the wall. Which I still don't care about. The good part is i don't think this will pass anytime soon so all this arguing is for nothing...knock on wood and come October I'll be right back to killing whatever I please with my purchased legal tags Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -

This fawn I shot on stateland was a deer I killed this year with my cousin after 4 straight days in the woods putting miles on a day still hunting reading the land tracking deer thru thick and thin. His first stateland hunt his first experience seeing a deer shot and killed his first track job. This is what hunting should be about see his smile. He talked about it for days. Still talks about it when I see him. This is what it should be this is how every deer taken should feel and what ever deer killed should look like. Every single deer I shoot is like this for me and I've been hunting better than 15 years (alot less than many, I know but only 28) If you don't get that I feel sorry for you. My trophies on the walls are animals I killed without trail cams without food plots most on state land...deer that have memories deer that have added a value to my hunting knowledge deer that I earned. To me that's a trophy. And Joe blow can pay money and go shoot a "trophy" in a fence under a feeder (not saying you do) but not everyone can kill deer on stateland or on heavily pressured small population private land. To me bone on the head has absolutly 0 meaning to me none zip nadda. If I saw a spike walking thru woods in front of a 10 point I'd end up killing the spike bc my blood is pumping so hard every time I see a deer whether big or small I get tunnel vision I go into a state of slow motion. If that doesn't happen for you I am sorry and maybe you should pick up coloring. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -

If that's truly how you see it I feel sorry. Hunting should never be about trophies. It's about the encounter. I'll say it a million times over trophy hunting is ruining hunting as we and our ancestors knew it and it's a shame and I'm glad I'm not part of it. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -

I think the OBR gets thrown around bc many AR guys believe AR's would increase the buck population and help the herd. When in all reality if they were concerned about the health of the herd they would be pushing OBR but they're not they want bone Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -

who cares about keeping older deer? That means nothing. Older deer is just for bone on the wall a 1.5 will breed just as well as a 5 yr old makes no difference. We need better land management to help the population thrive and be healthy which in turn will help them grow better bone faster. Who cares about the bone it means nothing. Let's quit trying to legislate this state let's quit trying to make it a hubting destination for TV shows let's just make it a state where everyone can go out fill their freezers and have fun and if your lucky enough to put some bone on the wall it will mean more. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -
Glad we agree....instead of us all fighting about AR's let's figure 9ut a plan that will actually help the herd without legislating until hunting is no longer fun Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

If more bucks would help our herd wouldn't a 1 buck rule have more of an effect than ars? Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Im one of probably few who do not think we have a herd issue we have plenty of deer they just are smarter and private land access is another area that makes general pop think the herd is bad. That state needs to help with access issues with maybe tax incentives/liability waivers or something bc alot of land is not hunted and deer know it. Stateland has deer if you work for them as well as everywhere else. The biggest problem with AR's is the fact they just want to legislate the entire area at once not knowing what may be best hwre. I mean I can get doe tags 20 miles down road but 0 at my house????how does that work we have issues and they don't start with AR's. I think state game lands could be managed much better with some timber being taken to open up for undergrowth and whatnot dig some ponds do some actual work to help the herd. AR's helps nothing it's really just for bone on the wall Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I honestly didn't read all that bc for some reason the font is black and hard to read and I don't care. That being said I see you take your kids hunting kudos to you I take my boy hunting and trapping and fishing all year in the freezing cold showing him that the hunt is in the chase that sitting in the cold all day without seeing a single deer is still awesome bc that's what it's about. It's about the connection to the woods the connection to nature the idea that you have no idea if a 10 point of a spike will cross your path. It's about reading the land and knowing where and when to stand there. It's about the hunt not about the kill. Sadly that is fading fast in "hunters" now a days. You want to hang 100 cams plant kill plots hunt outta heated blinds by all means do what makes you happy. But when I say I should have the right to choose what I shoot don't try change that bc, like you may not agree with the tasty button bucks I shoot I don't agree with how you hunt. It's not about how anyone hunts as long as it's legal I don't care but don't try and tell anyone else how or what to hunt either Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
-
Lmao wait till there's a 2nd kid involved...then it's planned and cancelled then planned and cancelled and.....you get the picture lol Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
-
Me either...private land yes plots or cams no bc I don't care what's out there first one by that gets my blood pumping is a trophy to me. I don't care if a bigger one walks by 10 min later while I'm having my victory smoke bc I just killed a trophy on my books. Like I said no hate for guys who do trophy hunt at all. Just don't shove it down the rest of our throats bc you want to shoot bigger bone Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
-
Lol to hard for you to understand then...trail cams food plots tree houses is not hunting. And trying to push beliefs of what should and should not be killed for the simple reason you want bone on your wall in not hunting. Don't agree don't care really. It's things like this that is going to make hunting a thing of the past let's just regulate it to appease people with deeper pockets Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

The problem is this is not how it will ever get handled by the dec....and I think the dec does the best job they can with the task they have to deal with (other than so tier fisher season that's terrible) if they would split seasons and restrictions up by wmu or even regions we would be better off...but putting 9x and 8n in the same sentence deer hunting is absurd Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

I never said anyone was not a hunter for trophy hunting I may have stated it poorly I admit. But when so called hunters try telling me what I can or cannot shoot they are no longer are hunters but more trophy gatherers as I said. You want to shoot big deer you want to know every single move your target deer makes by having 100 trail cams set up sending pics to your phone you want to sit in food plots that people plant for the deer more like to kill deer...that's not hunting. Want to earn a trophy go to the adks and shoot any buck let alone one with 4 plus on one side...that's hunting what many do (mainly trophy gatherers) do isn't hunting that is walking out back and shooting a deer you have been videotaping for months. I don't have the money to mount a trophy yearly or want for a trophy every season anyway. Why would it I would take away from the few I do have. Kinda like everyone gets a trophy liberals are pushing...lol Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk -
But then again I always come back to....who am I to tell someone what is or isn't a trophy to them Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
