  1. Been killing deer by stalking for 20+ years. I've even stalked flocks of turkeys to within bow range a number of times. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  2. I'm up to a couple dozen. As always "when in doubt, throw it out". Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  3. Quite possibly a Destroying Angel. DEADLY TOXIC Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  4. Very nice Crappy. Not a shaggy mane. That thing should go down the storm drain. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  5. Greedy! Haha just kidding. Fungi are just the fruit of the mycelium. As long as they are picked carefully so as not to disturb the Mycelium or better yet cut above ground level, they will usually fruit in the same spot year after year. Always good to take notes of date, location, temp, ground moisture, etc. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  6. You're too kind. Foraging really is fun. I enjoy it for many reasons. Some of which are it keeps me in better shape, it's a great stress reliever, I get to see the flora & fauna as it progresses throughout the year, virtually no equipment is needed, its mentally stimulating and the thrill of finding some yummy fungi is satisfying. My wife and I enjoy wild edible plants & fungi. We've even rolled around the idea of starting a commercial mushroom farm. I'm always glad to help. Keep those pics coming because mushroom season is gonna start to wind down after hens and shaggy manes. It's also almost time to switch gears into hunting mode!!!!! 7. Tbh I usually just grab which ever reusable shopping bags I find hanging in the pantry. I usually take 3 or 4 since I like to keep certain mushrooms separate from the others. I'm sure it's quite comical seeing me carry an armload of bags around the woods. By next spring I'm gonna invest in some mesh bags. What I need is to hire a caddy. I'd triple my harvest if I didn't have to tote my own shrooms. Lol Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  8. Haha you're fine. I just wanted to cmpare them with certain ones I've been finding. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  9. Crappy, Can you post a close-up pic of the chants? I need to inspect the false gills. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk

  11. Cinnabar Chants!!! Nice score! Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  12. Looks like you found a Berkeley's Polypore. Young tender specimens are supposed to be edible, but can start to become tough as they mature just like chickens and dryads saddle. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  13. Paula, I believe you found DACRYOPINAX SPATHULARIA ( Fan-Shaped Jelly) Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk

  22. Some of the orchards are still on the family farm ironically just 20-30 miles south of Cortland. Still produces apples the size of my fist Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  23. My great-great grandfather helped develop the McIntosh, but it will never hold a flame to a Cortland as an eating apple Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  24. As far as I'm concerned, Cortlands are the #1 eating apple Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
  25. I agree those sound excellent! I just cooked more of the one I've had in the fridge since last Friday. Froze the rest. My chores are done for now and I'm heading for the woods! Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk
