    Couple trout

Caught these two browns tonight... first is 10-11 inches... second one I caught after trying four different Panther Martins,,, gold, silver, yellow, white... he hit the gold , but didn't take it and then just followed all the rest of th lures... so I tried a Black Mepps with yellow spots and he grabbed it first cast... I didn't want to pull him from the water so I took the pic while holding the rod in one hand and the camera in the other... he was about 14".. you can just see the lure in his upper lip if you look hard
  2. I agree.. that would be great in theory.. but the way they want to work government healthcare still gives the slackers a free ride and forces ALL businesses to offer health care to their employees or suffer a penalty.. the penalty is less than the businesses cost so they will opt to pay the fine... requiring all the employees to purchase government run healthcare... where premiums are collected by the government and they decide the extent of your healthcare coverage... they will decide what they think you need for you and deny many procedures based on their opinion of need. I certainly do not want the US government having anything to do with my healthcare choices while they collect billions of dollars to be wasted on other unnecessary spending... forcing country wide competition among health care providers is the answer to lower cost insurance... competition will also create better plans to entice new customers... there are thousands of health insurance companies in the US and here in NY there are about 5 companies for us to choose from... open up the market, create competition and you'll see health insurance cost go down.. institute tort reform and doctors won't have to continue to cover their ass against all kinds of frivoous law suits.
  3. I just used the landscape blocks as a border then poured conrete inside...it just gives it a nice frame.. a paver border and stampcrete looks even better
  4. Of course the German health care system is good.. it costs individuals 15.5% of their gross wages... now take that number and add income taxes, capital gains tax, sales tax, phone tax, etc. etc. and you have a government that has all your money and all the control... I'm still not ready to give up that much freedom to the US government. How is it possibly equatable to charge a 15.5% premium based on your gross earnings... why should one man pay $150,000 for insurance and another man $1500 for the same care... then there will be those that pay nothing... thats insane... and the government gets to hold on to all that money... much like social security it will become a fund to be raped to expand more government spending behind our backs. I really think a few of you still don't get how badly our government steals from its people to further their greed and power. Wake up for crying out loud stop buying into all the BS. How many failed government run programs do you need to see to realize that the government is not the answer?
  5. John.. I'm very impressed... I know contractors that don't do that kind of work and they still call themselves carpenters... you missed your calling... let me know if you need a job..LOL
  6. I love seeing good work like that... there still are some talented guys out there.
  7. Shame you haven't figured out that they are one in the same... the government doesn't fund anything that they don't ultimately control. As for health care... they won't only control it.. they will control the people who need it as well. And, no doubt screw it up like they do everything else... if you think for one minute they care about you or your health you are sadly mistaken... they only care about controling one of the biggest money making schemes in existence... where there is money... there will be government trying to get a piece of the action. Why? Because they can... because people like you buy into their bullsh*t.
  8. Again the type of response we get from you when you find yourself with your foot in your mouth... I believe you meant "free" when you made the post seeing how you used the word free... accusing you of being for government run health care based on your defense of it would not be a stupid assumption either. Or were you just "for it" before you were "against it"...lol
  9. That is excellent work... I love seeing talent like that.
  10. I was just messin' with ya... it doesn't matter what I think anyway... it only matters what you think.. I'm sure you did a nice job, you seem like the kind of guy that takes a lot of pride in doing something right... wish I lived closer.. I'd stop by and help you come up with a good idea for the deck/patio. Would be much easier if I could see the area you want to build.
  11. I promise you john that your version of a good homeowner job and mine are quite different... I have seen many many homeowner projects over the years.. mostly when they ask me to come and fix the mess they created. Seriously though.. you can create a beautiful patio if you have a little sense of design... I'll try to take some pics and show you mine.. its simple but very nice looking and easy to take care of with just a broom. I think I spent a little over $1000, but I did the concrete work and landscape block work myself.
  12. I have built too many decks over the last 28 years...lol... ground level decks are the toughest over time because of the moister issue.. I usually recommend doing some kind of patio instead as opposed to a ground lever deck. they both serve the same purpose and a patio can be made for the same cost or even less... pavers, concrete, or a mixture of both... at my home I created a patio below my deck.. I made the shape of the patio with landscape stone then filled it with concrete... now there is also the option of stampcrete as well. Honestly, if you are having to ask this question.. you should not be building a deck by yourself..lol... leave it to professionals.. you'll be much happier.
  13. That is very true... what is hard to take is the fact that there is very little that we have been able to do about it... unfortunately this country is adopting an entitlement mentality and is ok with government taking over... the days of independence are are becoming slowly lost... and with it our freedom as Americans.
  14. The cure would be to allow American citizens to buy health insurance from anywhere they want in the country... here in NY and many other states you can only purchase the insurance that the state says you can purchase... this reduces competition and has created collusion among the insurance companies... where they inflate cost and everyone gets a piece of the huge pie they have created... similar to life insurance in NY... I can buy a million dollar term policy through the NRA for about $30 a month, but NY won't allow me too... I must by my policy from a NY company at no less than $130 a month for the same coverage... hang on.. I have to go be sick now!
  15. Its a legit buck... I think someone might be a little jealous though.
  16. I always carry when i'm doing anything where I am in a remote place... fishing, camping, canoeing... etc... this is one fella that won't be squeeling like a pig for any backwoods rednecks...lol
  17. It has to be political.. no way could it be because the individual mandate is unconstitutional. You liberal types kill me... if things go your way it's fair if not somebody automatically cheated...lol... Yes! I am absolutely an Obama hater. There may be some things in the healthcare bill that are good... but forcing Americans to buy health insurance or risk a penalty is not one of them.
  18. I think the "lol" means that was suppose to be funny? Yeah, it's a laugh riot... people in the communities are losing jobs and taking paycuts, while teachers and administrators ride on a gravy train provided by those very people... and then have the nerve to complain about not getting paid enough.. and how tough their job is! I think we should go back to small school houses and stop consolidating districts.. that just plays in the hands of the unions... giving them justification for stealing more and more tax payer dollars in the name of education... we need the small school house where the teacher is paid directly from the people in the community with no middleman. The people then have the right to hire and fire whomever they like.. the people negotiate directly with the teacher on salary and any benefits...
  19. Hope everyone has a good Easter Sunday... OOPs, sorry Paula.. and gals too.
  20. I'll be sticking to my recurve or maybe a longbow during the archery season, but I will probably get a crossbow at some point just to say I killed a deer with one... be cool to track and kill one that way.
  21. I did and I couldn't believe what some of the teachers were making... and I personally know some of them and have heard them complaining about how bad they have it... are you kidding me??
  22. I think I might just throw up!! Seriously, you teachers don't see a problem with any of this??? I guess it's easier to take when you're actually riding the gravy train and not just paying for it.
  23. my way of hunting is not for everyone... I am just not a sit and wait kind of guy... I need the thrill of wondering what's around the next tree, bush, mountain... whatever... I get the whole treestand thing.. I did it for years... I found it to be less productive and quite boring... I will admit that someitmes I will climb up in a stand on a nice sunny day to relax and take in the scenery... but only for about a half hour or so... then I'm right back on the ground and on the move. Treestands definitely have their place.. but I'm sorry.. I will never grasp the need for a swivel seat or heat structure.. I'd rather stay hoome and watch television!!
  24. How about this one?.. The superintendant of our school district went from making $160,000 in 2010 to $169,000 in 2011... raise your hand if you got a $9000 pay increase last year!
