  1. A good way to start getting in the habit, if you can afford the movement, is to draw level in the stand, and then bend your waist to keep the T form as the sight picture drops down into the buck's vitals. This helps people with it rather than trying to do it all at once, drawing at the angle with the bent waist and the T form.
  2. That makes zero sense. A tuned bow on the ground is a tuned bow in the tree. It's the indian, not the bow.
  3. Hang and hunt is no different than a climber.
  4. Bow shops aren't the money make most people think. Most shop owners can barely hunt...and not many shop owners run a shop and don't hunt.
  5. I don't know about the cell towers, but its plausible shot plotter was used. Many municipalities are using shot plotter to triangulate shooting locations.
  6. enjoy this time...its worth it...even when youre so tired you can barely function. well wofgh it.
  7. Why don't you hang a bottle with some milk out in front like a carrot on a stick. That'll bring em in. Good luck this year Steve, you bring levity to this forum, regardless of what anyone says.
  8. No. Realistic and honest...yes. Sometimes the truth hurts. Not everyone's ideas are great 100% of the time, and if you can't laugh at your own ingeniousness, then you have missed the point of life.
  9. Look, 12 posts or 100,000 posts, his idea was bulletproof, right? Post count means nothing. Sometimes brutal, up front responses snap people back to reality. I've been there...had a 70yr old throw my bolt back three times faster than I could at 19 because I wasn't smart enough to keep the gun shouldered in between shots. His sarcasm and in my face response fixed that weakness in my game real quick. So was three weeks ago when I was climbing up a tree and nearly cost me my bow season when my finger got crushed between a tree and a ladder stand as it fell. When the doctor told me I was an idiot...I agreed. I don't ride a horse. I mean, he's better off with a slingshot in the tree, for pete's sake.
  10. Little bucks are too easy to shoot to worry about beds, right? LOL.
  11. No worries my man. I have no problems with what you say...just pointing out the obvious ridiculousness of this thread classifying hunters, which really doesn't do anything for us in a positive light. You hunt, I hunt, that is all that really matters.
  12. Of course, it was a well thought out idea.
  13. Says the guy who stated he doesn't think about hunting much at all before the season, in August on a hunting forum. Zing!
  14. Ah, you must be one of those lowly gun hunters? I can play along. Sheesh.
  15. Common sense isn't really all that common nowadays.
  16. This thread is deplorable...bunch of whiners on all fronts. Usually this is a thread for August before the season starts, not when everyone is supposed to be out ACTUALLY hunting...
  17. Brilliant! Get up, get down, get around, and get up again. Makes total sense, no? I mean, seriously, if this were your concern, why not carry some cotton balls and a cheap $5 slingshot and wing them out from your stand once you soak them? Sounds equally thrilling. You must be one of these people in the video.
  18. Most of you were wrong, that's all. Notice most/all of the people who stated 4.5+ have shot older deer? You may have missed that, yourself.
  19. Ok, you're right. Does it make you tingle inside?
  20. People regularly pay more for them now than what they retailed at. People who use them....love them. You are right about the service, though. Most people who hunt sling style do so and become very used to it over a platform.
  21. You may be interested in the Aero saddle, there's a big post on AT.
  22. Let's not hope too much. Still quite a bit of leaf cover. Snow on leaves still attached to trees is not fun.
  23. You target 4.5s and up...so I'm saying you think that, too, lol.
