  1. I think otherwise, I think he's clearly 4.5 or older. I agree it's not the best pic, but the info is there to read imo. A 3.5's legs would be in line with the width of his outer body lines...they are clearly tucked in, showing the wider brisket and belly. When bucks start to look abnormally stubby legged, they're getting up there in age. 3.5s are so clearly streamlined and this dude isn't. He also has decent mass imo, but that has little to do with why I aged him at 4.5+.
  2. Rarely do people under-estimate deer. This is one of them where people are. No way that thing is 3.5. Look where his legs join the body - it's like toothpicks holding up a watermelon. 3.5s aren't like that on their best day right before the rut. He's a good one.
  3. I think that deer is older than 3.5. 3.5s look like a racehorse. This guy looks blocky and is built like a tank...I'm thinking 4.5 and older.
  4. Sounds like its possible. Post pic of arrow?
  5. You lease the ground, so dealing with trespassers impacts you financially. It's not as if this were some free permission situation. You are paying for access someone else is taking for free illegally. And, they are baiting. It's a 1-2 gut punch. If it were one or the other, I'd be inclined to do as they say. But with both violations, I'd call it in, talk to the DEC officer, tell him the situation, of which I think he'll be more than understanding to look into it. Leasing is mostly a short-term thing. Some leases can without a doubt be long-term, but they can end on short notice. You don't have time to be playing games chasing around a trespassing baiter. Let the DEC officer do his thing to hopefully squash the situation. If you don't, that guy will know you didn't call the DEC, and he'll just move his stand or come in another way, etc. It's unfortunate, but you have to play hardball sometimes to get the desired outcome quickly. Idle threats are called that for a reason, and people keep on keeping on in those situations unless a force acts upon them (DEC).
  6. All but one of the stands and cams I have had stolen were locked. I'm not bothering with losing more money.
  7. Easier to complain when the tag is filled, lol.
  8. nothing like the first doe coming into estrous.
  9. ladies sometimes dont like new ladies on the block.
  10. Rarely do I support a product full-fledged. BH209 is one of them, best on the market imo.
  11. Sometimes the chips fall a certain way for a reason. Keep at it.
  12. Some people use a 30 or 40 pin when in close because of arrow flight. You have to practice it.
  13. I think some disagree. Not everyone likes the same thing. I'm not comfortable when my size 12 or 13 boots are half off the platform - bar no stand, and I'm talking not even close. There's a reason people have some issues standing up from a seated position.
  14. I use hope. Cables and boxes lose you more money ime.
  15. Sounds wayyyyy too advanced for Early tactics. Should have killed the pig with a handcrafted knife first. Supermarkets are cheating.
  16. You'll be hard pressed to find new Gorilla stands nowadays. They are not made.
  17. The m100 is comfy, but I hate the V and I hate the fact your feet hang over the edge because the stand seat sticks out so far from the tree. For all day comfort - meaning dark to dark sits...nothing beat a quality ladder stand with a full platform to the tree. Hang ons...look for ones with a footrest. makes a world of difference.
  18. Close shots are way harder than 20 yd or even 40 yd for most people. Many people don't practice it enough.
  19. Most people shoot high at those short distances.
  20. Congrats. If he makes you happy, then that is all that matters. I don't think he's old at all, but that's a moot point. He's not getting any older and you are happy!
  21. Sent a doe to the big food plot in the sky tonight.
  22. a season can go from bad to great in ten seconds. one encounter.
