    Contest definatly bring out the worst in people. I won the plant buck contest 2 years in a row a while back.. And all year after hat all I heard was "It was not mine , It was a night , It was on a feeder and so on" I got sick of it and wont enter them. I did bring in my buck this year just to get it weighed. And again it would have taken 1st by 40 lbs. Yes even though not entered. I am hearing it all agin!

    I agree. How many farmer miss some corn or even corn that is picked and the deer feed on it all winter. I fail to see a good meal being a bad thing

    I saw in sportsman guide a year back they were selling poster that read " This food pile is designated for tweety birds and other such small critters for the viewing enjoyment of the land owner. All others are not invited" I wonder how that would hold up in coart?

    In areas around my home it is nothing to have 4' plus snow on the ground. I feel that I can help some to make it through the long hard winter. Then I will do just that. Now where I set my supplimental station is 1 mile back off the road. So no car issues arise. Hypotheticaly of coarse!!! ;D As for CWD I only have 6-10 deer using it!

    NYS Penal Code Fire arms section. I will look up the article and section number when I get home. Also I confermed with Jefferson county pistol permit office ( Marsha Barton ) How I came about this info was originally I had plans to make a custom single shot pistol. So now I am buying the encore as a some what way around it. As long as you keep your nose clean there should be no issues.

    Yes this is correct. But, if at any time the encore frame serial numbers become entered into a system as a rifle!!! Legaly it is now a rifle and can not be modified into a handgun. I am going through the parts collection myself right now.

    Go with the ruger 597 are noted for clip issues. The 597 has a channel in which a plastic fallower must fallow to return to the tops. The sometimes hang up.

    I use my used rage 2 blades from fall. Then in the summer new blades for deer season.

    Encore pistols are funny to register. You can register a frame on your pistol permit and then register all barrels seperatly.

    That is somewhat true. NYS law says "a long gun can not be modifide into a handgun" However If you buy it as a pistol you can turn into a rifle so long as the frame number do not get enetered into any system. The rifle would go under the barrel numbers. The only way this would happen is if there was a "brush" with the law in with the weapon was logged in as a rifle with the frame and barrel together. Kinda touchy.

    I have a CVA Electra. They stand behind their product very well. I was having problems with it not going off after 5 or so shots. Called they sent me an entirly new electrical system 2nd day. As it turns out that was not the problem. But they tryed to help with everything.

    I agree it would be determined by the size of the acrage. 10,000 + I would probably go. But smaller would prabably be donated to someone to raffle. I think I would also consider many factors, such as if you can walk in and ring a dinner bell and they come running. or if it is fenced to try to manage their own heard.

    If you realy look into it. From the sound of the group. Any caliber that will throw a 100gr or larger chunk of lead anywere close to 3000 will do fine. Personal I like a little fergivness thatis offered with a little larger caliber.

    I am in the process of getting ready to order my encore for hunting. I am leaning in the direction of the 338 fedreal. But, the 270 keeps coming back to my mind!

    That is this summers project. To determine if I can cut the hanging by a rope part of my walk out by a kayake.

    Went twice over x mas in St Lawrence area. Got 7 pike the first day and 20 the next. No size yet.
