I had the 45-70 M guide gun. Recoil was very noticable. Puts a thumping on anything you hit. I went wth a little H&R single in the 45-70 recoil is unreal. But hit hits like a ton of bricks

Think there is going to be a early rut this year?
Santamour123 replied to Buckfever85's topic in Deer Hunting
I should be good for my bow hunt in the rut this year. The guys I hunt with took the first 3 weeks of november off. I do not have that tine. So I put in my vacation as sometime early november. When I get the call that they are running. I am going. -
I still think we can all have the best. Us hunters who want the big mature bucks and those who want to kill meat. Put an AR on the state BUT, allow hunters to us their buck tag on a doe if they wish. (Meat) &(Bucks grow)

If you are set on a hang on stand. Look at sportsmans guilde They have a 48*36 hang on. huge and talk about leg room
-
If you love the smooth draw. You might want to look at an EZ7 amzingly smooth. But, I still love my new Z7Xtreme. far beyong the eaisiest shooting bow I have ever shot.

It may be all hype. But to be honest I will take every chance to stack all the odds in my favor I can

As odd as it may sound. You need loctite more with quality steal mounts than with the cheaper alluminum. It is possible to stretch and deform alluminum threads to lock in place, Where steal do not deform. Needing to be locktited

I cleaned best i could with a knife. Then boiled it for 45 minutes. The preasure washed all the meat and other stuff out. Let it dry then go to like Sally's Beauty Supply and buy hair bleach (40) and past it on and wait 4 hrs. Then rinse off.

I agree maybe some local contest. Here is a pix of my 20" spread last year. And I would not consider that anything spectacular compaired to Buckmaster stuff.

Video? Anyone going to try to video their hunting?
Santamour123 replied to burmjohn's topic in General Hunting
Made a camera mount that fits on my bow. I have been playing in the yard on my target. I might give it a try!!! -
There is no real need to take this bow to a shop. Go and buy some serving, and search on you tube how to tie in a peep. Once you know this untie the one you got and s,lid it down and retie it. Loosen and retighten your loop to line up. its a 10 minute job.
-
YES right on the peep should move to oppsite of the front to achieve a sight in. LOWER THE PEEP

Just ordered a CVA Accura V2 about an hour ago!!!

Anyone familiar with Remington Buckhammer slugs?
Santamour123 replied to MKYxD's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Not sure about the 20ga. But I used buckhammers in a 12ga a couple of years ago. Shot a 170lbs buck running on an angle towrds me. Hit him in front of the sholder heading back. The buck stopped and stood behind a tree. About 1 minute later he stepped out. I pulled for the same shot. He went down. I did have to finish him off though. Upon butchering both the slugs layed in the far shoulder. I don't know what to think. Alot of lead went to the far sholder, with not much results??? -
Wrist straps for bows. Any color in any combo. Let me know. I can get almost every color. Also a different color spine can be added. Picture shows some samples. Black leather mount included. $20 each including shipping. $15 local About 10 day turn around ( depending on how outragous the color is) 315-777-2733

Target Rifle Caliber
Santamour123 replied to Bballhunter11's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
It all depends on what type of target shooting. 100yard benchrest .223 (got one and love it .069" groups) long range bench .308 or 6.5x284( better in the wind) All around I had a 6mmBR that was great for both -
I do similar to this when we have to carry a deer for a long distance. I squeehie out all the waste. But rather than cutting it off/ I leave about 10" out the tube. I then tie it off. This way when you carry a deer the blood does not run down your back.
-
Yes I love the rage. However I can tell you from experience. With the 2" cut I am loosing penitration. I would be scared to go much larger. And I am drawing 70lbs on a new bow

Just ordered a K tech to match the grid lock riser. I will have to see how I like it. (Kinda took a look at Centerpunch's lost camo z7 stab. That looks sweet
