    Long day with my hunting buddy started with a stand hint at the lease tracks and sign everywhere none seen... A few miles on the high ridge on foot tracks and sign everywhere...none seen back behind the houses great day im beat... woukd be a topper to see some deer

    Picking up buddy with his rifle hope that buck is back on the ridge at 80 yards. Im gonna make another AM entry attempt on my beech/ravine stand...hope dude with the wheeler learned his lesson yesterday (or should I have learned) Speakin of yesterday...holy crap guys slammers and group photos come on what an opener!     Eventful AM no harvests. Scaled a couple hundred feet before I saw the headlight from an atv on the adjacent property...it got stuck and was spinning tires about 75 yards from the stand I was heading to... I went back down to the base of the face. Saw a dandy buck at 7:05 at about 80 yards (I have iron sighted deerslayer 2). He was doing a tiny circle when I got my sights on him squarely I wasn't sure if I was on shoulder or ass so I balked. He took a step out of the clear lane and raised his massive head back up...I was on the shoulder DOH! I see what he is circling...a bedded doe...I decided to take the switchback up to them. Halfway up there a rifle just off the property cracks and I hear 5 minutes of hooting and hollerin in celebration. This made me think I bumped them to the shooter so I lost my edge...10 yards later I bumped them inside 20 no shots bye bye Ugh Did cut about 10 sets of fresh tracks and eventually sat in the stand I intended for first light but blahhhh
