Got my meat sticks from my buddy shaking hands over another harvest on thanksgiving, sweet! Butchering to Christmas carols is my fav can’t wait we get our tree tomorrow!

Not a ton of motivation to gun hunt but my parents were heading to my grandparents today and I wanted to send a bunch more meat down to them so I resolved to shoot anything but an obvious button-or-yearling buck to keep the freezer at max capacity. Same stand as my archery buck this guy came in just after legal and gave me a bit of time to check out his half rack at close range which I thought was whitetailope like and cool and his body was excellent. I dropped him at 10 yards with 20 ga light fields out of the DS2...I’m on an 11 year NY gun harvest streak never been skunked in NY, still got a dmp I love it. His face was messed up and he had puss at the broke pedicle almost definitely lost in battle..cool. First Thanksgiving deer for me. First 2 buck year for me as well. Congrats all on the great harvests everyone, biz’s dad, stud for Grampy, another bruiser for Moog, treeguy, tall ones Jj and Lawd, great mass enigma!

I forgot who gave me the idea last year but it’s a good one, tho I prefer to hang em...was deboning the first hind of the season when they delivered the new fridge in mid October and was able to take my time with the rest despite warm afternoons...actually needed it fir the buck because it was too cold out fir hangin and the only reason doe 2 had to go in there was to make room to hang the buck in the shed...any way you slice it is useful.

Crazy Bow season lots of weird stuff happened and back pains kept me out of the woods a lot but in the end a success... 10/14 7:45am Big Doe: 11/3 7:30am Yearling Doe: 11/6 2:30pm 11pt: He came right into my 2d doe decoy and antler Ice after I tickled the rattle bag and made an estrus bleat...5 yards but I regret the between the shoulder shot I took from above...never again 700 yard track over 2 days found him this am don’t think he died til last night all the meat is still perfect temps were awesome! Lucky guy on all counts... All my neighbors are awesome the shot was taken behind my parents and ran through every neighbor property in between and 2 more over, Awesome Rural Community! My wife took rutcation fir me this week I Love Her! Great harvests and nice bucks all (biz with the xbow!) have a great gun season!
