Im up and ready. Gotta work at my buddies gun shop at 11, so im sitting till 10. Hopefully if the deer gods shine down upon me ill be outta the stand by 830. Watched a shooter in my field last night before i went to bed. Hope he comes around. Good luck everyone!

Nothin last night. Budfie missed a fox at one spot, didnt shoot a fox at the next stop because it came in in the first 2min. Had a yote show at that spot too but stuck to the woods and got down wind of us. Crazy quiet night, didnt get any responses at all. O well, back to deer hunting!

Heading out tonight with 2 buddies, hoping to put multiple yotes down.

Sometimes i wish i didnt have trail cameras...climbed down at 11, check a cam 15 yards from the stand and see this guy...i showed up 20mins later...time in the pic is 1 hour ahead.

Not sure if i missed it, but assuming its 30-30?

While i was skinning a yote i shot last night i heard grunting in my field so i checked it out and this guy came out and walked within 80 yards of me.

Buddy of mine just got a new gator, and its SLOOOOOOW. I thought something was wrong with it the first time i drove it, it was so slow. They are just geared for low end, so not much fun. Any of the big name brands will get you the power and some speed that you want. Ive been looking at the yamaha wolverine since its more of a mix of work and play.

Supposed to be working on a house my uncle is flipping but he called and said i wasnt needed today...so obviously im in a tree now. Bumped a small buck bedded by my stand, hoping a hot doe is in the area, they were running one sunday morning over here.

Did one quick set across the street and it paid off. Walking in scanning with the thermal i saw a group of deer on one side of the field and a lone deer on the other. Got setup and scanned back by the lone deer and picked up a smaller heat source maybe 20 yards from the deer in a hedgerow. The deer took a few steps closer to it then took off. I played a cottontail distress and it hoped out of the brush. This was pushing 300 yards at this point, so i was patient as it slowly made its way across the field stopping occasionally and just looking towards the call. It made it to about 150 yards and that was close enough for me. Put the crosshairs on the chest and squeezed. It immediately starying spinning in circles, i was pumped but then it took off...shit, chambered another round and took another shot on the run, then 1 more.it dipped below a low spot and i lost it. Got back on the thermal scanner and picked up another dog. I thought it was the one i shot at already. So it starts moving away and i take a shot at it and now its off too the races, 1 more shot for good luck and now im put. That dog made it into the woods. I thought how in the hell did it survive? So i start walking out scanning with the thermal, get to the dip and theres my yote, dead. A 2nd one came in while i was shooting at the first! I missed out on my first double. Still a great night for 15 mins of hunting. Its a nice redfish female, just finished skinning her and now time for a shower and bed.

Back in, wife had a to do list waiting for me when i got back to the house...doesnt she know its the rut now!!

Was going to climb down a 1030 as its been quiet for 2 hours now. Then all hell breaks loose 80 yards behind me. Doe getting chased by 3 bucks, didnt get a great look at them but pretty sure 1 was big. So now i sit longer...

Ended up seeing 3 doe this evening. Ill have to shoot a buck tomorrow morning i guess.

Up in the stand my bil got his buck this am. Hoping lightning strikes twice and i get a crack at one.
