  1. Great vids Bellmore......I happened to notice a nice buck rub on that sapling in the 3rd video.
  2. I can only tell you that I own the Viper SS and my buddy bought the Viper classic last year. He really wishes he went for the SS. The weight difference is very noticeable. I put my SS on my back with a fully loaded backpack strapped to it and it still wieghs less than his stand alone. I love the SS. I was thinking of going for the Titan this year cause I would like the little extra room the stand affords. If I do my SS is sold already.....to my buddy with the Classic. Hope this helps you in your decision.. Maybe you could buck up the extra money out of your pocket and go with the SS....you wont be dissapointed. Let me know if you have any questions.
  3. Damnnnnnnnnnnnn he's bigggggggggggg. Hey bleonard my mom has property up near you. Its a shame I havent been up there in years though. It was my grandparents place and I use to hunt it as a kid ( never took it too seriously back then). Its a fairly long ride up there from Long Island and its hard to get any of my buddies to get time off to go up there and fix up the cabin thats there. I did see some huge bucks up there when we did hunt( only did shotgun back then never bow). Its 12 acres and it runs thru the county line of Chemung and Tioga county in the town of Van Etten/ Spencer. I even hunted Connecticut Hill one time as a kid.I remember that was pretty rough terrain in spots there. I gotta get back up there soon.
  4. Geno he looks like a 12 point from the pics if I counted right. I don't think he's ugly at all. Love the different looking racks.
  5. Great shot Nocker and awesome job finding her. Glad it worked out. Congrats!!!
  6. Nice one Geno. Hope he makes a mistake for you!! He's got a lot of junk up top.
  7. Well so much for seeing more deer movement after the cold and the storm. I was out yesterday with my son and 2 buddies and my son was the only one who saw anything. He saw a doe around 4:10 working her way across a ridge about 100 yds from where his stand was. He said she was all alone....nothing trailing her. My only excitement was damaging the tailgate on my truck . Pulled my truck off road and went to park up on a side trail.....even with 4 wheel drive I started to slide back down off the trail a little bit.......damn wet mucky leaves........ brakes locked and BAMMMMM....right into Mr. PineTree. Only tapped it but it did enough damage. Was able to still open and close tailgate so I guess it could have been worse. So it turned into an expensive trip. Taking it to body shop probably this week. Would definitely be rather spending the money on a nice mount instead of a new tailgate.....LOL. Going out for an afternoon hunt today. Hopefully the Deer Gods will shine down and take pity on me.
  8. I'm with you Doe...since when does seeing deer actvity guarentee a kill shot......LOL

    217lb Brute

    Nice healthy buck there!!!! Congrats
  10. Me too. Hoping for some good movement tomorrow
  11. Looks like he has some good genes. Beautiful pic!
  12. Beautiful wide rack.....awesome deer!!!!! Congrats to the lucky hunter!!!!!
  13. Sounds like you may have hit her back just a little bit. Dark blood usually means a liver hit. I would normally let it wait till first light tomorrow but I know there is crappy weather moving in and you dont want to lose the blood trail. Also I'm not sure if you got coyotes to worry about. With a liver hit you could risk pushing her....it could take hours for her to expire. Its a tough call. I would probably give her at least a few hours and then try to track her. If you happen to find a spot where she layed you will probably find a lot of blood but it also means you pushed her. I would back off if that happens. Good luck....I hope you find her quick.
  14. Mossy what brand sight is it? You may be able to take it to a local archery shop. Maybe they will have some spare parts laying around?
  15. I have to work Saturday in the mucky weather but I'll be out all day Sunday and Monday. Sunday is my 17th wedding anniversary.....promised the Mrs. a nice dinner out after I get home. I told her I wasn't going to go out on Sunday but she told me it was OK to go. She's awesome.......I guess I'll keep her......LOL. Hoping that there is a big change with the deer movement this weekend. It's been a real slow October for me too. Good luck all.
  16. My quiver holds 5 arrows but I keep my bow in a Plano hard plastic bow case. I picked it up from Dick's for about 60 bucks. It holds a dozen arrows so when I store my bow the quiver comes off and the arrows get held, in place in the top cover of the case and the bow and quiver go in the bottom portion. When I have a full dozen arrows I keep 6 with broadheads, 4 with field points and 2 with practice broadheads (Rage). This way if I'm either hunting or at the range I just pull out the arrows I need. The case holds everything very secure.
  17. I would definitely take some practice shots if everything looks visibly fine with it. You want to shoot it to make sure the shock of the fall didn't jar anything loose or knock your sight out of adjustment. A slight movement in your sight could put your point of impact way off. You don't want to find out when you miss or worse yet wound an animal.. By the way I definitely agree with Deaddeer. Always use a pull up rope. I always have my screw in bow arm and a smaller hook in my pocket for my back pack. I climb in my climber, secure my stand, screw in my hooks and then pull up my bow and pack together.I untie them, hook them on their hooks and get settled in. I'm sure you probably do the same. Just figured I'd pass that on just in case. Good luck and be safe.
  18. I was in PA on Saturday and I stopped in Lancaster Archery Supply( if you haven't been there its a bowhunters paradise LOL) I saw the ASAT camo and wondered how it would perform in the woods. I hunt mostly Long Island and thought that it would make me stand out. Good info on how it worked for you. Maybe there are others out there who have used it. It is a very interesting pattern.
  19. Drove home from PA last night. Woke up at 5 AM and was just too tired to get my lazy ass up to go out. I am packing the truck after I sign off and will be spending the rest of the day in the woods. Hope to have some action.

    Heavy winds

Jimmy the one problem I'm always concerned about in the rain is if you make a marginal hit on a deer and the heavy rain washes away any blood trail you have. If the deer isn't hit good and you start to track because of the weather you could push that deer and never find it. I've hunted during light rain but with today's weather I would stay home. Just my opinion.....good luck if you get out.
