  1. i had to fly to California and back last week, and I got tired of reading so it was an angry birds and cut the rope marathon. Mindless, but it sure passed the time.
  2. Great job and congrats on your success!
  3. Congrats...that is awesome....thank you for sharing the pics.
  4. I have never been one to like the idea or the pracitce of baiting, even in states where it is legal, however I respect that if it is legal it is well within an individual's right to do so. That being said, this a NYS forum, baiting is illegal in NY, and a moron posts multiple pictures of a trophy buck (making the assumption it is photoed in NYS) over a mineral block. Pisses me off. I bet $10, either he never posts here again or his next post will be that the buck was photoed in a state where baiting is legal.
  5. Great job...great body on that deer. Makes it nice you have some history with him too.
  6. That deer is a slob!! Congrats to the young hunter. Awesome!
  7. TreeGuy....yep, i have used the stick for quite a while now and used it last weekend, and I personally have had great luck. I did a searched and checked out reviews of the EverCalm, and it seems as though the majority of people that use it, like it...from all over the country. However, there are some that have had the same reaction as yourself. I checked out a few other cover scent reviews, and for just about every product there are good and bad reviews. If nothing else it is interesting. In my opinion, the VS1 product is awesome.
  8. Interesting....been using a bunch of ConQuest scents for over 4 years, and have had nothing but good luck with them. Hunted last weekend with EverCalm, and had 8 deer all down wind, and didn't wind me. I pre-order and use their VS-1 estrus every year, and can attribute 2 deer to its use, and multiple others that I have seen but were out of range. I guess there are opposing views of every line of product...bottom line, is use what you are comfortable with. Good luck with your season.
  9. Wow, great deer....would like to see that hanging from my buck pole! Congrats to the hunter.
  10. Way go and congrats on the first bow/buck kill. Doesn't get much better than taking a deer with a bow!
  11. What do you do with the porcupines after you shoot them? Just curious, no porcupines where I hunt.
  12. What a beauty!! Love to see the young guys/gals take deer with a bow!
  13. Way to go! Good start to the season.
  14. Congrats on the opening day success!
  15. I hunted yesterday afternoon, in the Ithaca-Cortland area, and the weather was down right nasty, although the deer were moving from about 5pm until dark. I saw six doe all moving to their feeding area, and between the 3 of us hunting the 90 acres we saw 18 deer. Driving back to the Rochester area, I counted just over 30 deer along the road feeding. It will be interesting to see what happens tonight when I get back in the stand, and see where the wind is coming from. Good luck to all.
  16. Sun angle for the photo doesn't do the jar much justice, it was clear plastic, like a big deli jar. I could see his face clear as day through the jar. He was running remarkably well. I have to admit, I am really curious to know his fate. I can't imagine how he would get it off. I have seen some weird animal things either hunting or at work, but this one was the most strange.
  17. Because I do not carry a bow or shotgun or pistol while I am at work. It is a 350 acre property, and just because he has a jar on his head doesn't mean he can't run like hell. He was gone just as quick as he came.
  18. While I was at work, came across this coyote with a clear plastic jar stuck over his head. I was able to get about 15' from him. The jar was tight, and there was no way he was getting it off.
  19. Good luck to everyone....I hope we all have a safe and successful bow season. Can't wait for the pics to start rolling in of this season's bow trophies. Always fun to log on here and see what deer have been harvested. As for me...I am ready. I will be hitting the woods this year with a full assortment of video equipment that I invested in during the off season. Hoping to have some video to share with everyone! Best of luck to everyone.
  20. Congrats...good way to start the season!
  21. I have tried multiple size photos, and have not been able to load any of them.
  22. yep..same issue here, can't upload a pic to my profile. I tried a bunch of times and email the site.
  23. This is Molly my 5 year old red/white border collie. She goes to work with me every day. She has two favorite spots....riding on the gator or running like a bat out of hell right along side of it....and she is one helluva wood chuck hunter! I wouldn't mind my next life to be something similiar to hers!
