Yeah. I have seen some videos online. I figure the block should stop it and I’ll have the 2 2x6 runners to mount to whether it needs a 4x6 or 2 4x4’s or whatever. I figure I can put 1 bolt in each and when done using it will kind of fold up for storage. I would leave it in the truck all the time but I have a crew cab with a short bed so the 2x6 will be on the tailgate as the rear wheels will be resting on the tailgate. I don’t trust the wood ramps. I got the ramp off Cabela’s which is the 82”. My truck is exactly 82” to the tailgate when it’s down. Cabela’s had the ramp on sale for $109 with free overnight shipping. I ordered it Monday about 2pm and it was at my front door Tuesday at noon. The ramp fits good and is longer so easy to load. Just gotta make sure it will clear underneath the Honda Recon when loaded. But I have a solution if it doesn’t. The Recon says 6” of ground clearance and the ramp is 6” tall. If it doesn’t fit I’ll use 2 2X6 pieces of lumber in the bed of the truck to get the little extra height I need so the ramp will fit under it. Then I can put a small block on the wood to stop the atv from slamming into the front of the truck. I’m gonna pick up some of the tailgate savers, the metal brackets for $50. 92” is def too long for my truck bed. I have the crew cab and I’m like 82” to the end of the tailgate when it’s down. I guess for the price I’ll just get the 82” because I won’t be able to close the gate anyway. The rear wheels will be just onto the tailgate. I plan on getting the tailgate metal brackets too to save the gate from the weight. Cabela’s has the 82” on sale right now with free shipping. It’s the Yuktrax tri-fold with 1700 lb capacity. Getting an ATV for hunting and it’s just a smaller Honda Recon 250. Wondering what size ramps I need. My truck is a Nissan Frontier 4x4 and I’m gonna load it into the back for transporting. I see tri-fold ramps which is what I want come in 69” and 82”. Is the 69” long enough or should I go with the 82”? Anyone with experience who can help me out here? Thanks in advance. any hunting stuff on the xmas wish list??

I'm looking for a quality used 4-wheeler. I probably won't use it much but fun to have. I have hinted to the wife to buy me a 2004-2006 Honda Recon 250. Would be nice to not have to carry all the stands into the woods by hand in the summer heat. Plus it would make the drag nice and easy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I let a medium size doe and a button buck that were together go. I’m sure it was a button buck as he lifted his leg and peed while I had the scope up on him. Both deer broadside at about 45 yards with dmp’s in my pocket. I’m not seeing any bucks at all. Over the past week I have seen deer in 6 straight sits with 17 deer total and all does. I’ve let 7 go that I could of shot. All of this from 11/9-11/18. It’s like there is no rut where I hunt. Very strange. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I do have a buddy in 5T that killed a 6 pointer on Saturday who came in all alone with his nose right to the ground. He hasn't found any scrapes or rubs at all yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm in the far north east corner of 5R. I have seen some rubs so far. Haven't seen a scrape yet. I did make a mock scrape and had a buck make one next to mine last Friday. Other than that absolutely nothing. I have seen does in groups still and nothing trailing them. I had 5 does come in today. First was 3 in a group with no bucks then 2 a few hours later with no bucks. Seems like there is nothing going on yet. I passed a few does early looking for bucks but if a doe comes close now it's getting slocked. Here is a video from the buck last week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Ok. Just new to me. Never seen that before. Thought it was a cool video to share as well. That buck is a ghost too. I have caught him only at night on cameras. Smart fella. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So I made a mock scrape the other day. I used the Wildlife Research dripper as well as some Smokeys pre-orbital scent I created the mock scrape at about 11am on Saturday and by 8pm that night I had a descent buck show up. The buck make his own scrape next to mine. Now the strange part is at about 2am two coyotes came by and the one coyote actually rolled around and put his shoulder down in my mock scrape. Kinda strange. Never seen that before. Anyone have any thoughts or insight? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wow!!! Where about in NY? I'm just getting rubs showing up. No scrapes yet. Not much daytime movement yet either. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Didn't see anything this morning. Tried some rattling with no luck. Scouted around a bit and rubs are popping up. Found a nice rub line. Gonna have to sit on this line very soon. No scrapes yet though. I did make a mock scrape today to see what I can stir up. Just rubs all over. Cameras are picking up some small buck activity during the daytime. Mid next week into the weekend it will be on. Im I'm in 5R. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Wednesday is going to be an awesome day to be out there. As for the can it worked for me last year but I missed the buck. One thing I read and it makes perfect sense is that when you rattle use buck in rut scent. Obviously the bucks will approach downwind. They will scent check before coming in. If you use the buck scent they will circle downwind, smell the buck in rut scent and believe there really is a buck out there. I have some of the Conquest buck in rut scent I'm going to use and try tomorrow. Hopefully it works out. Who knows. Maybe one of these two will come check it out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Have you tried some estrous scent? Maybe even try using the can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not sure if this will fit my son or not. He is 7 but he is tall. He is very tall for his age. He is just getting the bug and into hunting. He goes and checks cameras with me all the time and loved looking at the photos. I bought a blind for him to go and sit with me. For some reason though he loves turkey hunting more then deer which is fine. He loves watching hunting shows and asking questions about deer. He is really into all my gear and checking things out. He does love to watch me shoot my bow and he just started wanted to shoot a bow. All he has shot is a cheap nerf style bow but he has gotten the basics down from that. I'm in the Saratoga Springs area. I could meet up with ya even somewhere. Let me know if this bow would fit him or what age group it's for. Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Raised Hunting is by far my favorite show. It has great video, great editing, an actually story, great narration and it's all about hunting and not 100% about pushing sponsors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Turkeys everywhere this year. More turkeys then deer showing up on camera. One more week and the arrows will be flying their direction. Pretty cool trail cam photos and wanted to share. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No matter what you buy for a camera it mostly depends on the set up. There is more to using a camera than just sticking it on a tree. You need to know where the sun will be, where the deer will be coming from, camera height and a few others to get really good photos. There are a bunch under $100 out there that are good. I have had good luck with the Spypoint, Moultrie, and some Wildgame cameras. I have had bad luck with the Stealth Cams. They were the P-12's. They didn't work real well. Plus a pain to constantly set the date and time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
