  1. About 10 rounds I carry. My 308 holds 5 and I have 5 spares. But I'm not going deep into the unknown. If I ever er turned around I'm never too far from a road. Plus if I shoot 10 times I think it's time to go home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. This has become the "issue" with deer hunting. I'm not saying positive or negative either way, just the way it has "evolved" and the reason for such a split opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'm looking for a 7M. I have 5R I could trade. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. It was really good. It needs more salt and dry rub. The smoke flavor was excellent and the perfect blend. The beer gave a great moistness to it with good flavor. Everything was on par but the dry rub. I will try again next week maybe. Going to smoke some turkey this weekend and some brats or something with it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Had some nice pizzas on the grill but here is the golden ticket for after dinner. Some dry rub venison jerky being smoked in a mesquite/apple mix flavor and some Sam Adams summer ale beer in the liquid bowl. Hopefully it comes out good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Just looking for info as I got an invite from a buddy to go out with him to hunt a few days. He says the Tioughnioga WMA in 7M is a good spot to hunt. Just looking for any info anyone has on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. No free licenses for first responders. Only military or disabled. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. That tactic used to work to sit all day during gun season opener but now everyone has the same idea and it's just a bunch of hunters sitting. Play the wind now to your advantage if you know where other hunters will be going in. There are so many people out there hunting who don't go to the extreme for scent control and that can help you. I let it help me. Too many "casual hunters" who don't take it to the next level stinking up to woods and making way too much noise that haven't done their homework all year. 9. That's not a bad price at all. When I got mine it was 2 1/2 years old with 35,000 miles and I got it for $20,500. I put tires, rims, tinted, put in a leveling kit and blacked a bunch of it out myself. Def put the leveling kit in it. Makes a huge difference in the stance and look of it. 10. I have a Frontier and love it!! Great price, great mileage, goes anywhere and the payment doesn't break the bank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. I have gotten 2 each year for the past 4 years. It's all probability. Sometimes you are lucky and sometimes not. I went with a few friend last year. I got 2 guy behind me got denied both then the next guy 1. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Just got my tags and I got 2 for 5R. Now I just need my dad to get his and come through for 7M. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. That's why I'm not sold on QDMA. But if ya shoot all the does there won't be any bucks at all. Can't have fawns without the does. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I will be applying for doe permits in 5R tomorrow. They give out so many in 5R and there is barely any land to hunt on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I'm with ya. $72 for me too. NY stinks for prices. But I know some states are a ton more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Def something I gotta start doing but my time is so limited. I get out as much as I can but I need to make an effort to be out there longer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Still available. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Going odd my trail cams for my area and the history from the past 2 season, Nov 10 - Nov 12 were the best days to be out there. Also you have to hunt on Halloween! That for some reason is always special. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Late season in the snow with a muzzleloader is fun. Cold but fun. I love chasing the deer around and the opportunity to shoot a doe if the season hasn't been very good. Can't beat it. I love going when everyone else already threw the towel in and are at home watching tv. I was out in -10 degrees last year in mid December. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I have the Traditions Buckstalker. It's an awesome little gun. MSRP is $220 but you can find it on Sportsmansguide for like $180. I only muzzleloader hunt 1 week or so a year in the Southern zone late season so it's perfect for me. That equals about 3 trips to the woods. Use the extra $70 in your budget to get the other things you need for it. That $180 is no scope. Put one on it next year and get a descent one for it. I was between the Buckstalker and the Wolf. Both real good guns. Can't go wrong with either one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Might just be in my head but I'm sticking with my plan as I have gotten 2 DMP's the last 4 years doing it that way. Then again there are too many in my zone and I never fill both so it doesn't really matter either way. Lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I always wait a week to apply for DMP's and I believe it works better that way. There is a mad rush the first few days and I think the computer calculates that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Not many good deals though. The Dicks 50% off isn't off the "everyday price". It's 50% off some strange number. It's really more like the everyday price you get or like 10% off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I'm with you on the Stealth Cams. I grab the P-12's online for like $40 each and they work great! I just scored a 2 pack online for $76 with free shipping. Now that's a deal that can't be beat! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
