It's the heat. My cameras have cooled down as far as movement goes. It was 73 degrees yesterday at like 5pm. That's crazy. Things will come around. Plus the woods are so thick and green still it's hard to see anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I just got into the Spypoint cameras and I really like them for the price. You can get them for under $100. Very good cameras for the money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Walk that drainage and see where they are crossing. You will see the runways and sign in the mud. I bet they cross in that area and run the ravines as well. I like to see be right in those creekbeds in the mornings. They will cross and run up and down it. Get up on the ridge in the afternoons. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

He is making his loop. Days you didn't see him just means the camera missed him. I tried an experiment last season and put 3 cams all within like 10-15 yards of each other. Some cams got deer the others didn't. If you have that 4 day loop down then pattern that. Count the days and be there. Im in the same boat. I have an awesome 8 that I'm closing in on his pattern. Seems to be every 4-5 days as well. Just gotta get lucky now and hope the pattern sticks. I have a good amount of does around too so I'm hoping he stays close and makes a mistake. Also the camera I have gotten him on is like 10 yards from my stand. Follow your instincts. Make a decision and go for it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I didn't forgot to bring anything. It actually went pretty smooth. I did forget to take the range finder out of the bag. Had a doe that I said to myself was out of range. It was a bit downhill. Ranged the spot later at 38 yards. It still would be ok the bubble of my comfort zone. Let 2 does walk today. I also was a dummy and put my bow hanger up on the wrong side of me. I did forget to pack batteries for the trail cams and one was dead. Brought it back home to put out again later. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I think I'm going to do an afternoon hunt on some fresh cut corn fields. Get out there about 2pm and sit till dark. Hopefully will be a good sit. My cellular cam is heating up. Action in the am and pm. Going to hold off on the best spots for now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jawbone Aging Education & Quiz
sethf11 replied to dbHunterNY's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
How did the doctor deer grasp the screwdriver to put those screws in his jaw? I would stay away from hunting that area!! But being serious, I don't know much about aging jaws but I see little to no wear. So very young. Maybe 1 year old or less? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
If you work on your days off when is there time to hunt? I go knock on doors and get to know people. Be yourself and be polite. I got a 650 acre farm to hunt from a cold knock on a door. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Maybe it just died. Who knows. See what the camera picks up in the next 2 weeks before the season starts. This is my first attempt at any plots or micro plots. Maybe I just had some higher hopes. Fun nonetheless and I enjoy trying and learning. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's not there to sustain. There is a 40 acre cornfield that is 200 yards away and an 30 acre field of Alfafa 250-300 yards as well. Just thought I would give some micro plots a shot this year back off the fields. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I put in a few micro plots of clover and they are already getting eaten down to nothing. I realize they are small and don't take much to get eaten fast. Just thought it would of held out for 2-3 more weeks until the opener. Here is photos of the plot 4 weeks ago and then again today. Luckily I have a few other plots that haven't gotten hit yet and one right next to this one that is like 2 weeks behind in growth. Hopefully that one holds out for the opener. This should grow back a bit right? Or is there a problem and it not healthy? There are a good amount of deer tracks in the dirt in and around it.

Not sure if this has been on the board before. It's new to me. Pretty funny. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I hit very consistent when practicing at 45 yards. I had a buck at 47 yards and I didn't take the shot last year. That 47 yards through the woods was a much much more difficult shot that I didn't feel comfortable with. It also looked like about a 60 yard shot as well due to not being an open shot. I judge a lot by feel and in the moment. But "acceptable accuracy" I would label as softball size at 30 yards. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm going to start the sleeve at the end of this hunting season on the right arm. I would do it now but don't want to be dealing with the healing, on my draw arm as well as the stinky cream for the next few weeks. I want an owl in it with the moon, an arrow, some sort of American flag somewhere too. Also an Indian headdress for the Mohawk Indian I have. Kind of a hodgepodge I guess but who cares. It's what I want right. I love the eyes on this owl. Something like this. Awesome Indian headdress. Minus the skull. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I guess also you have to consider your future plans. My plan is to buy, use it recreational and hunt then in about 10-15 years build a house on it and sell my current house. Financially that makes a little more sense but still losing money. Better option is to just buy when I'm ready to build and save/invest what I would of paid for the land. Funny. I paid the money for Smokeys deer lure. Did the same thing and nothing. Absolutely nothing at all. lol. My luck stinks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
