Bionic replied to Canis Latrans's topic in Deer Hunting
@Canis Latrans nice job, what do you use for editing software? Trying to get some videos going myself, but so overwhelmed with the editing process. Thanks. -

Pretty much, its a backyard bar, roughcut bartop liquid glass’d, tv, bluetooth music speakers, and insulated ceiling with heat. He did a great job, they spend a lot of time watching the campfire from there. Thanks! Food was great I heard, and I couldn’t have asked for better weather especially for this time of year.

I had a small chicken bbq for my dad today since he is turning 60 this week. I marinated half chickens, and then basted them over charcoal for hours today basting them with the leftover marinade juices until the last hour. Also, simmered fresh corn on the cob with butter/sugar/half&half, along with venison sausage, homemade macaroni salad, homemade potato salad, chips/dips, veggies. It was a wonderful day cooking for him and immediate family.

Phone is always on, don’t hesitate....

True most of the time, but if issues do arise, one should call the commissioner, or supervisor. The phone numbers should be reachable on municipal websites. Also, if this issue your friend is having is not resolved. Consider attending the Town/Village board meeting, and explain to the board what happened. It is most likely a waste of time, but sometimes these town board meeting are aired on local TV stations, ours are, and it could give them a kick in the ass to actual fix the issue. It wont change the human damages, or medical bills, but it might make the municipality to wake the F up, and fix the issue with theirs grounds so no one else gets hurt.

Where abouts of Sullivan County are you if you dont mind me asking?

I hear you, its the crazy world we live in i guess. I would imagine this is a tactic to try to lower the amount of fake lawsuits, where people are trying to scam. I have dealt with a lot of scam lawsuits in my career. Most were complete lies...lots of wasted time dealing with it. We do soooo much documenting, routine inspections on structures/grounds to protect ourselves , you might be surprised. I know I was when I started.

Yes, but the municipality will not just throw their injured employee money if he/she was injured on their property if they were not on “work time”. The employee would have to handle is as he was anyone else. However, if he was working, and on the clock, he would file an “accident report” with the municipal employer, and deal with workers comp to get back his insurance co-pays, and back his “sick time” he/she used as a result from his “on the clock” injuries. I believe you get back 80% of your sick time used.

Yeah, I work for a Parks system for 16 yrs, we do a lot of preventative inspections, work, etc to maintain equipment, and grounds in order to be able to prove ourselves later on if a lawsuit is filed. The amount of lawsuits that are filed is aggravating, most are lies, and are simply people who are leaches on society looking for a free ride through life. So aggravating, wish we could bill the liars who filed a false lawsuit for our labor, etc that was wasted. Hunter- the above is just a general rant, not directed at you, or your friend. However, that sidewalk pic you posted...is that the actual sidewalk your friend tripped on? If so that is negligent, and purely irresponsible of the park. Also, is it the actual park’s department’s sidewalk, or like the city of NY’s road department sidewalk? Not sure how it works down by you. Honestly, if he/she sued I cannot see how the sidewalks owner/municipality would not be responsible, like you said that developed over years or root grow, and winter frost heaving/etc. I am big believer in being responsible for yourself, and not a fan of lawsuits though.

So I was up at my grandparents on Saturday, and I was doing some work there, and the neighbors stopped by, they are Indian, and I had never met them, and we were chit chatting. Well the conversation turned to my prosthetic arm, and I explained how I use it, and demonstrated it. They were mind blown, which was cool, and the wife asked if I would mind walking over to show her mother. I said thats fine...so we walk over, and they have a campfire going, with a good 18-20” cast iron frying pan full of shrimp curry simmering over a campfire. I thought how Ironic that it was shrimp, cooked over a fire, etc....well I met the mother, who did not speak English, and she was relatively amazed, but long story short, the wife asked if I would like to take some food home...I did, but said no thats ok, thank you though, it smells wonderful, and I appreciate the offer! The husband said this is 100% authentic Indian food, you have to try it, so his wife said I will get you a container! Wonderful people, so welcoming! So they sent me home with a huge container full, really interesting. I have never had Indian food, but to get to experience a dish like this cooked as they did, is so cool to me! This was reheated in a pan so it looks a little funky.

Looking For Deer Processing in Southern New York
Bionic replied to WestchesterBowman's topic in Deer Processing
You could check with Quaker Creek Store in Pine Island, NY. A lot of guys use him for specialty stuff. You could always start a new hobby too...
