4/4 today and a big convincing win. The boys needed it they are now 2-8 on season...but being a new team put together only this fall they are making huge strides. Best part of today my son was chosen by the other teams coaching staff as our player of the game. This day in age when everyone gets a participation trophy these kids are hard pressed to know what it actually means to earn something . His mother and I were so proud that he has worked his butt off since November, stayed committed, and most importantly hasn't given up during some of the tough losses/learning experiences. Bad bad day in Buffalo.....thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims families. I know that area of the shooting very well....graduated from Canisus College right down the street....student taught in a few schools off Jefferson Ave, and still referee city soccer games at the all Rock Pile right down the street from thay Tops. We just bought the 22" blackstone with easy folding stand for use while camping and in between baseball games while at tournaments. So far after setting it up and getting it seasoned we have only tried chicken breasts so far. Going to experiment with breakfast Sammys this weekend after I grab a few of those egg rings. Just got in.....got am email early that my work was shutdown due to high covid cases so I got the boys on the bus and made my way out. I must say this Ameristep blind I left out all winter handled the elements quite well. I was out here in Feb. And it was crushed from ice being built up on it. I was under the impression house league means no travel.....but found out alot of these leagues are hurting for players and now they play crossover games with other towns. On the flip side we haven't played a house game but have 3 travel games under our belt. The boys are young and very raw, but they just have a blast playing together. This weekend will be the wakeup call for the boys. We are in a tourny about 50 minutes from home.....play.1 game Friday night.....2 games Sat....and then potentially 2-3 Sunday. How old is he?? If he has buddies on the younger team that's what it's all about. We started off our 8u travel season today. These kids have been practicing together since 11/1 and have built a real bond with each other......they lost 1-0 but had alot fun. Heck they had 60+ people turn out today to watch them play....it was a blast.
