  1. Gimme a break willya? I'm watching a 6 year old and a 1 year old 5 days a week right now. I'm just spitballin' here. Not everything is gonna be gold. I would like to see term limits added to this amendment too.
  2. This is the part that I am interested in. Anyone think this shouldn't be the law?
  3. That snopes article has nothing to do with the push for the amendment. It's an idea whose time has come and will require powerful grass roots demand to pass, since it affects the good life the Congress has voted for itself. It's time for all of that to end.
  4. From here on in I'm going to ignore all the ankle biters and let the folks with virus issues have the thread.
  5. Those are not my words. I said "IF". Go back and re-read what I said and try to understand it. Show me a link saying the police didn't take the man's complaint. Show me a quote from an officer saying he didn't put much faith into the complaint. If you can't, it's either hearsay or propaganda. Either way, I don't care about it unless you can supply what I'm requesting.
  6. Please read the proposed 28th amendment Please Read, and forward. This will only take 1 minute to read! 28th Amendment, 35 States and Counting. It will take you less than a minute to read this. If you agree, please pass it on. It's an idea whose time has come to deal with this self-serving situation: OUR PRESENT SITUATION ! Children of Congress members do not have to pay back their college student loans. Staffers of Congress family members are also exempt from having to pay back student loans. Members of Congress can retire at full pay after only one term. Members of Congress have exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed, under which ordinary citizens must live. For example, they are exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment. And as the latest example, they have exempted themselves from Healthcare Reform, in all of its aspects. We must not tolerate an elite class of such people, elected as public servants and then putting themselves above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent, or whatever. The self-serving must stop. Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon their states. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention. If each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days most people in The United States of America will have the message. Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the Citizens of the United States ..." This is an idea that should be passed around, regardless of political party. Congressional Reform Act of 2017 1. No Tenure / No Pension. A Congressman/woman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they're out of office. And, no more perks go with them. 2. Congress (past, present, & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. It may not be used for any other purpose. 3. Congress must purchase their own retirement plan, just as ALL Americans do. 4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. 6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people (i.e. NO MORE INSIDER TRADING!!!). 7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen/women are void. The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen/women. Congress made all these contracts by and for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor and privilege NOT a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators should serve their term(s), then go home and go back to work … not get all kinds of freebies.
  7. I think the problem becomes obvious when people die from an illness totally unrelated to the virus and had no symptoms, but postmortem testing shows they were positive, so they add it to the virus death toll. That should not happen.
  8. That's where we differ. I don't argue. I debate. And I keep it as civil as possible. I see it as a non-issue that has no ill effect on the country or the check recipients and not worth being concerned with. But I do see the extreme reaction it causes in the heads of people who suffer from the Trump psychosis, which leads me to believe that's why he did it. Those folks are so easily manipulated by Trump and he enjoys pushing their buttons. I don't like when he does that, but I don't think he would get away with it if his opposition was more professional in their politics. Assuming I think Trump can do whatever he wants is a sign you think you can read other's minds. Try to restrain yourself when thinking that. It will not serve you well.
  9. I suggest you look up the meaning of the word "if". Are you really being serious here with me, or are you simply posting out of frustration?
  10. Because it's completely irrelevant to the topic we are discussing and is an attempt to derail this thread. I see no reason it needs to be on the checks and don't care if it is. Is it wrong? How? Is it political advertising? Yes, but what isn't? I couldn't care less about it because it has no ill effect on the country at all, other than to make crazy leftists even nuttier.
  11. No, you would witness me pulling out a lawn chair and encouraging you to continue entertaining me while I laughed until I cried. Why would I resort to violence in the face of a fool?
  12. I suggest you go back a re-read that post to see what it is I actually said, then read his post to see if he ever proved the officers did what he claims.
  13. So a "fact checking" org that leans far left is also biased. Thanks for the confirmation.
  14. Andrew Cuomo is inseparable from his little brother and the issue is the man who called little boy out, favors their politics, so it is relevant to the issue in so far as the man was not politically biased against the Cuomo's and there was no political motive here. Acing in the manner little boy did, is still not the way a civilized, intelligent, mature man should have handled it. The man chose to call him out for a perceived infraction, which is his right. Cuomo should have been able to defend his actions in an articulate manner if he was capable of doing so. Apparently he wasn't.
  15. First, you need to prove they have ignored the man's complaint and provide info that can be searched. names, badge numbers, station, etc. Besides I never said they were corrupt. I inferred they are negligent IF they did not do their job.
  16. So, the fact that they lean to the right and publish conservative articles makes them biased? The main stream media leans very far left and is extremely biased. They are the source of your post and claim to be "fact checkers"? Pot-kettle.
  17. Why do you bring your hatred of Trump into every issue? I fail to see the relevance regarding this discussion. That would require an entirely different debate and appears to be an attempt at misdirection. Can we stay on topic here? The man's political affiliation is evidence he was not addressing little Cuomo for political reasons. He was doing what his big brother encourages people to do. Little Cuomo was wrong and his reaction was uncalled for. He is the jerk in this situation.
  18. Their credibility comes from their peer reviews. Biased sources have been called out by the industry many times and have earned that reputation. The Daily caller has earned it's unbiased reputation, much to the extreme leftist's chagrin.
  19. Why was he in close proximity to his wife and children? Is he not concerned about giving the virus to them? BTW, I hear many governments are giving rewards for snitches. Isn't NY encouraging people to report quarantine violations?
  20. Not if they're not doing their job to earn favors from elected officials. That's not equal enforcement of the law and a violation of their oath.
  21. First, the guy in question is a Democrat and life long supporter of Andrew Cuomo, who never said "Fredo" to little boy. 2nd, I would never advise any of my family to resort to violence when insulted. That's illegal and will put you in jail. So will threatening violence. If one is physically attacked, one can physically defend one's self, but initiating violence over an insult proves you are not capable of making rational, civilized decisions. Besides, most people prone to violence over insults will only resort to that when the feel they have the physical advantage. They will take insults all day from a superior opponent. The way a man handles insults is what defines him as a man. Cuomo just proved he is a child, and he's hiding behind big brother's bullies.
