  1. LMAO. So Im not allowed to have an opinion if it differs from yours? I never said your opinion was wrong, just said that I dont agree with it. Not my problem you cant handle someone disagreeing with you. Its not like I never admit when Im wrong, which is more than I can say for some.
  2. I actually meant the OP. Love the old shells though. Ive got a few boxes of oldies too.
  3. Id say 3 1/2, but may just be a 2 1/2. Tough to tell with the way hes arching like that, kinda makes the belly and back line look saggier.
  4. He could be the father of the one Ive been watching if they werent so far from one another...
  5. I think it all has to do with the particular location. If its say, an active farm, where deer are used to new things being parked here and there and people walking through, then the cams wont have much of an effect, except maybe curiosity. In more remote areas, that normally dont get any human intrusion, they can have a big effect on the deer patterns, especially if you are checking them too often. Generally, I like to put my cams at or near food sources. I dont like to try and put them in bedding areas, thats a good way to push deer, especially a mature one.
  6. Heres what I do, works well for me. First, I put on light weight socks, the ones I have are ScentLok socks I got as a gift. I walk into my stand, then put the stick on foot warmers on the bottoms of those socks. Over that, I put a pair of wool Carhartt socks on, then my boots, which are 400 Gram Rockies or my uninsulated rubber boots. I can stay out there all day like that with no issues, even when its well below freezing. I go out coyote hunting at night in January and February and alot of the time its below 20. No problems. **Edit** my Rocky boots are 800 Gram, not 400.
  7. If a deer is born in May, by now its 1/2 year old. If it was born last spring, right now it would be @ 1 1/2. If someone is talking in June, its probably more of a slip than an attempt at precise aging.
  8. I have stands that are good PM stands and other spots that are better for AM sits. Before long, I will start staying out all day.
  9. Nope, but I can read what was said on the other site. I didnt just say you were talking about me, I said others as well. He also never said that things were getting better in the whole state, or area even, he was talking about what he had experienced in his small part of the area. YOU took it and tried turning it into something it wasnt. Now bring on your latest slew of personal shots and name calling like you have done here and on the other site in the last couple of days.
  10. Lions and Tigers and Grizzly Bears! Oh My! http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/story/2011-10-18/exotic-animals-loose-ohio/50821092/1
  11. Dont forget the special youth season, and something about contraception. Other than that, you summed it up. I still have to read what the deal is with contraception.
  12. I hit a doe couple of years ago above the spine, basically piercing her back. Im not 100% if she did the drop and I was just aiming too high or if I just shot too high to begin with. Anyways, she did the same thing, blew like crazy as she ran off. I watched her run for 100 yards with the arrow hanging out, so I knew she had been hit, but when I looked, there was no blood for @ 125 to 150 yards. Then I found a few drops, then a ton, then I found the arrow completely covered. At that point I thought maybe I had hit her lower than I thought, so I followed a heavy blood trail for @ 100 more yards. At that point I found some clumpy blood then nothing. I searched for a day and a half but never found her. I saw her a few weeks later with a big healing wound on the top of her back. Saw her a few times last year too. She might still be around. If you do think it was a decent, killing shot, then call Deer Search Inc and have them bring out the tracking dogs. They can sniff the blood out even after rain.
  13. I know nothing about porcupines, do they do damage to things? Why kill them? Just wondering.
  14. Thats not what I or anyone else there said. If you are going to carry that conversation over to this site, you might want to tell the truth about what was said.
  15. You are correct, certain things are going to need to go through the legislative process.
  16. Congrats! Great story, great deer and above all, great perseverance! I would shoulder mount it, its your first buck and with archery tackle no less, you should be very proud! Again, congrats!
  17. Yeah me too, I couldnt resist putting it on here lol
  18. Glad your going to get better quick. Im always paranoid about getting hurt during deer season lol.
  19. Ill use a bleat or grunt if I can see or hear the deer to bring it in. I dont just blindly call. In a couple of weeks I might lightly rattle, but I still dont blindly call.
  20. Politics and tax wise, I agree lol. The OP is talking about coming here to hunt as a non-resident though.
