Yeah, Good point; could you cover with a tarp and prop up the center with a couple of long brances or something? Weight down the edges w/ rocks?
-
Nice , I may try to snag this book; did you read it ?

Have you ever heard of digging like a fox hole for deer as opposed to a traditional tree stand or ground blind setup ? In retesting idea , I wonder if it has any merit to it ? Came across this piece of advice reading an old deer hunting Book : what do you think ? Ever heard of this before ? The way I see it , it’s use would be very limited , if effective at all ; I mean , who’s gonna dig a fix hole in the middle of the woods or a swamp ? But , maybe at the edge of a field or on a hills side ? Sounds like it could work , lotta work though !!

Coriolis effect on bullets ? Is that like an aim adjustment Due to earths rotation or something ?
-
Gotcha , so I probably haven’t seen it cuz I haven’t been presented with shooting conditions Where it’s been an issue , correct ? Where is the parallax adjustment on a scope ? Is it same as the mag adjustment knob?
-
How much of an issue is parallax, anyway? Ive never noticed that using any of my scopes over the years. Evidently, parallax is evident when, peering through the scope, the reticle appears to "float" on its target; moreover, the floating worsens as the diatnt to target increases, yes? IDK, Maybe I've been lucky cuz I've never experienced this. Is it more prevalent with cheaper scopes , perhaps, or independent of scope quality?

Vaccination
Northcountryman replied to johnplav's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I wouldn’t be so sure ; apparently , the risks associated with receiving the vaccine are not 0% as you suggested . Granted , cases such as this are exceedingly rare SO FAR , but doesn’t matter If it’s your ass that ends up being the statistic , right ? Check it out : https://www.fox5dc.com/news/virginia-woman-dies-hours-after-receiving-covid-19-vaccine-health-officials-say -

Vaccination
Northcountryman replied to johnplav's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I’m afraid society will not be returning to normal anytime soon my friend ; like it or not , we’re stuck with COVID -19 Indefinitely, if not permanently. Vaccine is not going to make any difference in that . Hopefully, once we reach herd immunity , it will be rendered relatively innocuous, Though , similar to other rhinoviruses like the common cold ; but we have a LONG way to go till reach that point . -

Good point about the noise making inherent with using metall ones; is that really a big problem, though? -

Thank you Sir -
Wanted to go do some squirrel hunting this am but turned back cuz snows too damn deep!! I've never owned a pair of snowshoes so I was thinking: now might be the time!! I want to get a pair that are durable, but not too heavy , I guess---sort of middle-of-the-road in terms of cost also. Anyone have a recommendation as to what to get? I literally know nothing about Snowshoes!! Thanks

Great pics, thanks for sharing. So, theyre bedding next to the field to save energy? What is that stalk stub in the ground in one of the pics? Is it normally a hay field ??

Political humor
Northcountryman replied to Water Rat's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
I get tired of the "Nazi" epithet being used by the left "Nazi" when describing Conservatives. Little do they know their history!! Nazi actually stands for "National Socialist German Workers Party"; does that sound like a right-wing party to you?? LOL
