  1. My expirience with just concrete block is this.....they eventually deteriorate from the heat.I found 2 ways that lengthen the time they last conciderably, by lining them with fire brick (costly) or if you have access to heavy 1/4" steel plate. If using steel plate, you need to keep it away from the block,an air space if you will. And forget the free ads for old cinder block....2 fires and they come apart.
  2. Is that chrome lined? Not that it matters really, curious. Can't really tell by the pic,but that's not the heavy bbl.I think you can get them in 3 different thickness...heavy,med,thin. You will like the Qrail setup and it looks better and actually has function vs the standard grip.
  3. This place has gunpowder scent and strippers mouth ? http://www.mandleco.com/
  4. I have a bladder tank at the house.1 time in ten years had to "air" it up.That was because the foot valve was leaking back.Turning your pump off and draining your tank, then filling it back up will put the needed "air" space into your tank. But if you have a tank that has an air valve, you can drain it,air it to the manufac. specs, mine is about 12lbs IIRC, then fill it up.If you have the problem again, check for air and water leaks at the pump and concider replacing the foot valve and if you go that far,you may as well change the jet if it is a jet pump etc. I don't know if a leaking bladder would cause your problem, because I have not encountered that yet. When you finally did get primed, did you notice any loss on the pressure gauge? Could be water logged? What did you find out,we gotta know! Will patiently wait for Sunday!
  5. I don't know about you,but these give me the creeps. The first pic is of one we had on a 6x6....the spider is huge. The second was found between sheets of warped paneling and T111.Makes you want to pitch a tent!
  6. You can't even enjoy a crap. http://worldnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/05/23/11836543-grabbed-from-the-throne-man-on-camping-trip-survives-outhouse-bear-attack?lite
  7. I fished that big water quite a few years with a 26' Cruiser.....she gets a bug up her back side real fast. You best make sure all runs 110% and you have all safety gear readily handy. It could be 85 and sunny and still have a small craft warning. I had water crash on my windshield more than once on the big boat...6 to 8 footers. Please be careful. Also, finding a cove out of the wind helped save some fishing days.Maps, and local tackle shop people are a big help as well as a weather radio. Good luck and hope you have great time! Be safe first.
  8. I use this in my safe and have no issues in 2 years. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Remington-Mini-Dehumidifier-for-Gun-Safes-Model-365-/230789629050?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35bc22447a I would keep it off the floor some, assuming you have concrete. Maybe build something out of 2x6 or a very stout hardwood pallet prettied up would do.And keep it away some from the wall. Over dry is just as bad as too humid for firearms. I check my firearms regularly for any out of norm conditions while kept in the safe.
  9. Very sorry to hear of your loss.God Bless
  10. I second that notion. I have a shallow well, about 110 here at the house and a jet pump.Had same trouble.Changed foot valve and jet,all good to go.Also, after you get the prime back, depending on your holding tank,be sure to air it up if possible,or it will come on and off irregularly.
  11. It was every bit of 20" ,,,but I wasnt about to stress the snake out by messing with it to measure it. The wife and I were happy to see such a colorful snake. The pics do nothing for it.The color was simply amazing with the sun shining so bright. We have " grass snakes" at home but nothing like the color of this snake. It was really cool to see something with the color it had.It equalled the glow in the dark alluma sticks kids run around with.
  12. Wooly had it correct...a smooth green snake. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liochlorophis_vernalis interesting snake species....im not crazy about them, but they eat alot of spiders and bugs.
  13. Good to hear! Vacation is over,go make $.
  14. I tried that last night,(plugging it in to my PC).The camera readout window showed NO SD CARD INSTALLED.PLEASE INSERT SD CARD. Something to that effect. That tells me that you have to have a card to use this? Don't sound right, but it is. In the owners manual,it states that an SD card MUST be installed for the camera to operate. Page 2 owners manual.
  15. No..it wont be coming to NY. I would have to make the stock non folding permanantly amongst other things to conform to NY laws.I have too much involved to want to change it to make "them" happy. It's my fun gun and SHTF go to. Yes this is legal in PA and not NY folks.Don't want anyone thinking wrongly of me lol. Just shooting the breeze and admiring WNYs build, figured I would share my latest delve into the AK world.
  16. Ran across this taking a walk on the power line.Never saw one so green and looked as if it was glowing.
  17. No idea what pir setting is...but the WGI cam is pretty simple and a basic IR cam with very little settings control. It takes nice pics IMO and is easy to use compared to the Moultries. But I'm impressed with the pics I did get with the 1 Moultrie....I had no pics in a month on that camera and I know it is in a hot spot for game. The camera said it had 14 pics, but nothing was on the SD card. Didn't think about it till now...I can plug it into my PC and have look see.Humm.. Yes the beaver thinks that big cherry is food.He has done a massive amount of damage to my trees down by the river.
  18. Not too bad for the first time using them....but 1 camera took 0 pictures.I brought them all home to test and practice different settings.
  19. Haha...yep.My little girls man friend was given the "talk" one day.Told him if he ever hit her in any way, that I would beat him so bad that his own mother would'nt know him ever again. He was really shaking by the time I was done talking. He and I have a good relationship and I also think my little girl could kick his ass anyway. I only have 1 girl and 2 boys...the boys can defend themselves, but don't mess with my girl. They are all mid 20s so life is good.
  20. Nice fox! Can't wait to check mine this weekend...been out for close to a month.1 is on a beaver area.
  21. Sounds great! Hope you have great weather and have fun.
  22. I have had them done in a roaster bag seasoned up, till they were falling apart and heard no complaints. Will be heading north for a week or so this Friday so I plan on early morning hunts and cabin work the rest of the day. Good luck everyone and be safe.
  23. Ya got 9 more, don't worry about it. Take care of that infection and wear steel fingered gloves next time.
