  1. I've killed nearly 20 does in the past 5 seasons and have no problems getting up to my elbows in blood, guts and gore...
  2. That's a chance that you have to be willing to take when you pass a young buck. There is basically no QDM being practiced in my hunting area. This guy may get killed on a neighboring property this fall and he may not. He obviously made it through season last year...
  3. On some shows (TX and Mexico high fence) 8-pts are seen as "management bucks", but Lee and Tiffany certainly don't waste their precious Iowa tags on culling out 8-pts, they only shoot fully mature 4.5-5.5+ year old deer. This deer is only 2.5, he was a 4-pt last year...
  4. The buck in the back is a yearling 6-pt.
  5. Oops, didn't realize that I had already posted on this thread...
  6. I plan on spening most of my season perched up in the trees here in the NE corner of Steuben County...moslty in 8R, but also hunt properties in 8P, 8T and 8W.
  7. Me too, but that's where filling my DMP's comes in to play. This one will die if she pulls this next weekend...
  8. This guy has been coming out to feed in the cloverfield every evening. For the past two nights he has come in from the right, meaning that he has passed by my stand at less than 10 yds. It's a little after 7:00PM in this photo and he's broadside @ 20 yds.... Just for the fun of it, I was curious as to how many members on here would take the shot and how many would pass? Personally, I will let this guy walk. He's only 2.5, I've watching him grow since late June and he could be a stud next year.
  9. There are a few bears around, but these trees were trashed by a deer. The one rub appears to be a signpost that has been used for several years...
  10. Yep, he has both brows...the left one is just over an inch.
  11. Man, I'm really starting to get pumped up for next weekend!!! Found these rubs yesterday while scouting a new farm. I'm pretty confident that the guy making them is probably big enough to shoot.... Also stumbled across the remains of this awesome 2.5 year old 10-pt. the other day. Too bad, he would have been a beauty this year.
  12. May be looking for someone to join a newly acquired 300 acre deer/turkey lease (have 5 people now) in the town of Canisteo, Steuben County New York. PM me for any more info/details...
  13. 8P and 8R, Steuben County...
  14. Hung a stand for this guy (aka "Big Niner" ) this morning...
  15. Yep, I'd much rather see him make it for another year than even think about killing him this season. He's a really nocturnal, sketchy deer that's been a pain to try to get pics of. Hopefully, he won't get caught up chasing does and get whacked by the neighbors...
  16. About half of the bucks on today's card pulls are now in hardhorn. Here are a couple of them...
  17. This will be my first year hunting this place. These deer aren't going anywhere, they'll still be hanging around the area come October. I picked up sheds to all three bucks in post #2 this past spring within a few hundred yards on this trailcamera...
  18. Nice bucks. Gotta love a buck with a droptine!!!
  19. Is he just a big 7-pt with a fork on his left side? Good luck sticking an arrow in that dude!!!
  20. Actually, it's a cut cornfield field that was plowed/disced this past spring but was never planted due to the weird weather that we had. There's clover and various weeds/forbs growing in it now. I had my camera set-up in an adjacent cloverfield but the action started to peter off. I noticed that the bucks were hanging out along these woods alot so I moved the cam accordingly...
  21. Here are a few of the nicer bucks from the new place: I set up this camera a week ago near a lone apple tree located in a thick hedgerow running through the center of a field in hopes of getting pics of two particular bucks that I have seen hanging out here... Here is bigger of the two. He's wide with good mass and brows but is a little short in the tine department. I like him...he's the new #2 on my "wish list." Hopefully, I'll get some better pics of him. Here's his buddy who is very photogenic, I've got over 100 pics of him checking for apples.
