what happens when you pass young deer..
WNY Bowhunter replied to G-Man's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
As I stated earlier, he's a great looking 3 year old but isn't 150 class...I'd say more like 130-135. I bet he'd hit 150 next year though!!! My estimates: mainbeam: 21 G1: 3 G2: 6.5 G3: 7 G4: 4 Mass: 16 Total = 57.5 x 2 = 116 + 16" spread = 132 -
Finally, after nearly a month without any pics of him the little double dropper shows back up!!! What an awesome two year old buck. I had no idea when I first got pics of him in early July that he'd turn out to be so cool looking... August 23:

Great looking buck with really nice G4's. In my opinion, he's not quite a 150 " deer (not that it matters at all)...but man, he would be a stud next year!!! Good luck with him. -
Random buck pics from the past week...

I do think that a buck's individual personality effects his movement patterns, but, I don't believe a dominate buck will totally run-off all of the rival bucks in his area. Seems like a dominate/aggressive attitude usually ends up putting that buck in the back of a pick-up truck come November... -
Random buck pics from the past week...

Typically, in my area bucks that are two years of age and older don't tend go too far from where they spend the summer. Radio-telemetry studie show that as a buck matures his core area shrinks in size. I found a shed from the big buck in the top pic back in April less than 100 yds from where this camera is set-up... -
A few from the new place... Was hoping Little Freak Nasty would show up. He didn't, but I ended up with this new buck on my friends's farm... My little buddy...
-
I was just thinking; last year I had two 4 year olds, five 3 year olds, and four or five 2 year olds at this particular farm that I watched through the summer. This year I haven't seen a single one of them!!! I know for sure that both 4 year olds and my favorite 3 year old were all killed. The rest must be dead as well or maybe they moved to a neighboring farm or something...but dang, talk about frustrating!!!
-
It is frustrating. You just got to have it in your head that some bucks are going to make it and some are going to die. There will be others to take the dead ones places next year...

This little guy was a regular on my cams all summer/early fall last year. He showed back up after gun season and I was curious as to what he might look like this year as a two year old. Really, he has exceeded my expectations and left me hoping that he can pull through another season or two. It appears that he could be a big ole wide stud if he is able to reach maturity. It's always cool to witness these bucks grow through out the summer and from year to year. Sept. 2010: 'Lil scrubber with velvet hanging... July 11: Off to a slow start... August 4: Looking better... August 15: Finished up nicely...

He will be getting a free pass from me. Heck, I'd just like to get a couple more quality trail cam pics of him before he losses his velvet. He is proving to be very elusive for a young buck. Hopefully, he'll keep a low profile through October and November so he can be Big Freak Nasty next year.
-
I think you're right. He seems to be teasing me now...
-
Probably needs at least one more year. I'd like to see him grow a G4 on that right side... .
-
Yep, there's a kicker on his left G2...
-
Posted a thread yesterday with pics of this deer but I checked my cam today while attempting to do some scouting (got rained out) and had some better pics of this bruiser from this AM.
-
Here you go.
-
Shed from last year...
-
I've seen him at a distance several times and got video of him already. Also picked up his right shed less than 100 yds. from here back in April...
-
Finally, he came by my camera this AM. Hopefully, he'll stop back soon. I think this dude qualifies as a shooter...
-
Yep, the first thing that I do after setting a cam is knock down all the weeds, grass or anything else that may unwantedly trip of the camera.
-
That's a good thing. I like candy... .

So far I've got 4 shooters on this new property but not really any good close-ups of them. The deer in the first pic is a 3 year old, I picked up both of his sheds this past spring. The next one appears to be a 10-pt., probably low 130's...but a P&Y for sure. Dang, he's got a big body, so does the next buck. I believe the last one is Big Boy, the one I'm after. Hopefully, he'll drop by again for a better look..
-
I wonder if this guy is still kicking around the campus?
-
That's what I was thinking too? What an awesome looking buck. Maybe he'll drop his sheds in the backyard for you in a few months...
-
The daytime pics are really nice, butI haven't gotten a daytime pic of a deer with this camera yet...
-
That's one cool looking buck!!!
