What is your favorite turkey choke tube?
WNY Bowhunter replied to RangerClay's topic in Turkey Hunting
In my Browning BPS, the first choke that I tried was a .665 Indian Creek but the pattern wasn't as good as I was hoping for. I read that since the Browning invector plus barrels are backbored (.742) they like a little less constricted choke. So, I tried a .675 Indian Creek and the .670 Pure Gold...both performed equally well but the PG was a bit easier to clean. Here's a 30 yd. pattern from last year with Hevi 7's... -
The winter didn't seem to any effect on the beards because I'm seeing some NICE ones around!

Hope to have some "after" pics of these guys in a few weeks...

I believe that I have a set off of the same buck from last year. If so, he made an impressive jump from 1.5 to 2.5... -

Put in a few more hours today and had my best day so far during this otherwise pathetic shed season... My first find was this deadhead 8-pt, also found a dead fawn... Shed #8: Shed #9: -

Yes, both are perfectly legal here in NY. -
I hear you about the patience...I've been going crazy waiting for the dang snow to melt so I can finally start hitting some spots up. I hope to start some serious shed hunting starting monday...

Hmm...that's weird?

Saw a flock of 30 birds or so this morning that I've been watched for the past couple of weeks now...there were 5 longbearded stutters in the midst!!! Down the road a little bit here was another flock with a big ole strutter. Today finally felt as is spring is here (until this weekend)...
-
Birds out everywhere this afternoon...even saw a couple strutters!!!
-
Why two bang...was the first one a warning shot...lol?
-
After what these poor little birds have endured over the past two months, I'll almost feel bad to kill one of them in a few weeks... Except for these these ones... The one in the front looks super skinny to me but I'd probably take him too...

I'm one of the ones who hasn't found them yet. Still have lots of ground to cover (all of the woods/bedding areas), like you said though we need some warm weather so I can get out there before turkey season gets here!!!
