  1. Check Graff and Sons for that too. I am not sure if Blackhorn 209 will work with percussion or flintlock, but if it does give it a try.You will never use anything else. Steve
  2. Graff and Sons was the cheapest I have seen

    No excuses

Shot some "No Excues's " bullets the other day in my White S91 -II, much thanks to SteveB .I am going to palce a order with Dave and get some bullets. Does anyone think 460gr is to much for deer at 100yards or less? I currently use the 350gr FPB for deer now.
  5. 1994 Mossy 500 smooth bore.Remington sluggers. This combo works great to 75 yards, where we hunt most shots are well under 100yds.
  6. CVA did have some issues in 1995 and 1996 if I recall, that have gotten great reiviews with there new line of wolf, optima and accura guns.I think the optima and accura have the bergarra barrel. The CVA guru's might be able to shed some light. TC makes nice ML's too,I would get the triumph or omega before I bought the impact.Randy Wakeman gave it a great review but others have not.I have yet to see it in person, but it looks nice in pictures I have seen. The price of 249ish and great from a American made product. Gun broker has some nice used guns from time to time, H&R,austin and halleck, remington and sometimes even a WHITE.That would be my choice if I was getting another ML.Built like a tank. Any of todays brands would be a great choice to hunt with.
  7. Last time I said those two things I got banned from some worthless site..
  8. 200.00 in upgrades, what did you do to it.. I got a MU plug from Nick and a Hubbards Rod from Ben,I love mine.Actually mine is the Heritage but same as the side kick. Natchez still sells the Remingington Genisis,I was thinking about getting one.But after my wife saw me just get a White ML I will have to wait a bit for another one.....
  9. someone must want a Mathews,it needs to go !!! All offers considered...
  10. I use T7 for hunting, just because its so easy. Blackhorn 209 at the range. Can't beat it. Was thinking about trying some Shockeys too.Isn't Ameraican Pioneer a form of Shockeys?? Thanks for the heads up.
  11. Any one use Shockey's powder or super sticks.I was thinking about giving them a try.Love to try new powders out.But all powders are getting $$$$

    savage 10ml

BH209 and T7 loose and pellets. Both worked very good. There are horror stories out there about the Savage, but I think if the directions are followed it is a great gun. Steve

    How come?

" I Hatchet Jack, being of sound mind and broken legs,do leaveth my rifle to the next thing who finds it..... It is a good rifle, and kilt the bear that kilt me.Anyway I am dead,Sincerely Hatchet Jack." That says it all........... Sidelocks, flints or in-line's , one shot one kill. Steve

Mathews SQ2 unless it sells in the classifieds
  16. I only got one White super 91-II, wish I had as many as you. What do you shoot out of your super91 .504? I tried the FPB's and they worked pretty darn good..I ordered some no excues to try too. Steve

    FPB's

I have been using a 100gr of T7 pellets or 80grains of Black Horn.I have not seen any Hornaday FPB fragment, nothing but good results with them. Both the newer 300gr and the older 350gr...Good to hear keeping the charge low..Some people use the magnum charge {150 for pellets } but there really is no need for that. Now Power Belts fragmenting on the other hand, happens all the time. Steve
  18. You shooting smokeless of BP

    FPB's

Are you saying anything over a 100grains to be fast?
  20. They are simple to use,but you must read all safety and instruction books. If you use pellets you can NOT go over the 150gr charge.Thats 3 T7 or Pryodex pellets. If you use the T7 magnums thats only 2 pellets to get your 150gr MAX charge. They are a blast to use,but if not used properly they are a pipe bomb waiting to explode. another thing to remember is to set the bullet all the way on the charge, you don't want any space inbetween the charge and the bullet.I mark my ram rod so I know how far I have to go down to seat the bullet everytime. Steve
  21. That optima that the sportmans guide has is last years model, still a VERY good gun.Cabelas has is in there bargain cave for I think 300?? The newer model has a few more bells and whistles, but still a great gun.All the stores are trying to clean out the older versions... CVA vs TC,I would take CVA,nothing against TC.But CVA has come a long way over the years. Not to mention I like there customer service better. From what I am told TC has issues with there QLA system in some of there guns. They are alot $$$ more too. If your going to spend alot of money there are other ML's out there. If your spending 200bucks for a weekend gun get the CVA or if you can find a New England firearms huntsman or sidekick.Natchez still may have the discontinued Remington Genisis, another very good gun in your price range. Just my two cents.
  22. Like the above post said,CVA is good, the cva wolf can be had for under 200 and the optima around 250.TC just came out with the low budget Impact.Good first gun. If you use blackhorn 209 you won't be cleaning as much as if you use T7 or prydex.
  23. Think most of us its our first deer. Now for me its waiting to see our son/nephews or even that older hunter who has been in a slump for 20 years or so get a crack at one...
  24. To quite on here, whats everyone shooting.I got a NEF Heritage {same as sidekick but camo stock} a TC renegade, and White Super 91-II that I just got for Doc White himself ... Not sure if I am going to use the White or my NEF this season. But 2010 season is getting close.
