  1. Nothing seen in my part of 6k
  2. I was going to say the same, the newest pic is a much bigger deer.... Almost time to see him up close....
  3. Anyone know any butchers in or around Albany?
  4. Ditto for me to,off to camp on Sat to check the camera and stands and some duck hunting. Then get ready for opening weekend of ML season up north..Hopefully its not 70 freaking degree's.
  5. Muzzle loader all season for me,north or south.
  6. I 100% agree with at the range the shoot well,on Deer they are no good.I am still shocked how many people use them.Good luck to those that do.

    200 lb club

Those Salereno boys take 200lb bucks in the ADks almost every year.....Almost time to get a chance up north on Oct 23. Good luck boys / girls this year.
  8. DO you got a Metrics Unlimitted plug and a hubbards ram rod.I have that same set up but use the 300 or 350gr Hornandy FPB's or the 460gr no excuses... Yea its a rush after the smoke clears but what a great feeling....
  9. Go to cabelas or Gandermountain and check there reviews out.You can shoot them if you want { they are accurate } but from what I have seen first hand,I wouldn't use them again. There are FAR more better choices...Cheaper choices too... The only advice I would give you if you use them is get the biggest grain bullet they make, maybe its 338 I think and don't use more then 80gr of loose powder or two pellets.
  10. I would never use them again,do a search or google them. There are far better choices out there.I have been using the Hornady FPB the past few years and have had great results.. Thors,no excuses or bullshop are some other conicals you might try.
  11. Does anyone know why you must wear a back tag in Southern zone and not northern? Tresspassing is bad, plain and simple. Why people would do it blows my mind.
  12. We have had drunk tresspassers in the past. Our property is posted every 50 feet by sign or yellow paint. There is no way to NOT to see it when you cross it.It BLOWS my mind every year we get one GERK on it.We do wear orange to be seen by other hunters. Last year I came upon a guy who had beer on his breath walking right down our trail towards me.I had my 8 year old nephew with me who I told stay here by this tree while I go see this guy.He says is that my tree stand up the hill and did I get anything out of it.I said why yes it is and its none of your bussiness if I got anything out of it.After smelling booze on his breath I asked him if he new how to get off our property and he said yes.First it scares me that he knows how to get off our property and why in earth he would be drinkning and hunting. Not a good sign for a future 8 year old hunter to see. Second,WHY in earth do you have to wear your back tag in the Southern zone and not Norhern where my property is.Thats one thing that pi$$es me off. Sorry to vent but thats one thing I hate is tresspassing.
  13. There is no bead on a new CVA wolf gun,it would be fiber optic front sight.I think the site picture would be smaller with a peep, not 100% sure.Someone may correct me....
  14. Or maybe install a peep sight,I would think 5in group at 50 yards would leave a Large margin of error at anything past that. But you do have nice gun.I held one at Dicks.Lots of guys dislike the CVA for issues they had in the past.I don;t have one in my gun cabinet but lots of guys do.
  15. I wonder how much inpurities burn off wheel weights and those sheets?
  16. What bullet and powder are you using? I would think you could get closer then 5in groups?
  17. I wear a pair of Bean boots until the temp gets below 30 or so,then switch to a all rubber boot with 1200gram of thinsulate.I can wear gym socks and my feet don't get cold sitting or walking.Best boots I own and under a 100 bucks. There are different brands across the board.
  18. I think I can say Black Horn 209 is by far the best choice, anyone who has used it must agree.Anything else is just second best.If I choose T7 or Pryrodex I will take T7 every time.Just my choice,no right ,wrong or better, just me. If your getting rust from pyrodex are you cleaning it often ?? If not I would suggest cleaning it after every use.Try some windex and then a patch with oil then a dry patch or two.T7 pellets will work the same, but after the 3rd or so shot your going to have to clean the barrel to get another bullet down. The crud ring will develope. Some folks try to use a "hotter" 209 primer and that might help.I am going to switch from Winchester 209 to the Remington Clean bore as I have heard and seen nice results from them.
  19. What twist does that have in it? very nice
  20. SOLD !! going to miss that thing, best Mathews I have owned.
  21. I was as big a fan of them as anyone, but after losing two deer I would never use them again, deer were lost do to bullet not shot placement..If you look at reviews on Cabelas, gander mtn, bass pro or whomever they will all say in some sort like SteveB said they shatter pretty good,no blood trail or no pass through. To there credit they are very accurate out of all my guns. Also stated there are better choices for conicals,I use the Hornady FPB in 300 or 350gr.Thats there version of a Power Belt.No Excues ,Bullshop and Thor bullets are some other BETTER choices for a clean kill.I know they load easy and thats great, but any hunter wants a bullet to perform up to there standards and get a humane harvest.
  22. Its been so long since I got it I can remember, but I got a life time bow and ML.Best thing I ever bought.
  23. Yup,ML too.It all comes with the Super sportmans lic..
