  2. 3 Loggy Bayou Monarch XL aluminum tree stands. Very light, only 7 lbs each. Seat cushions bad on 2, but web straps are fine. $150 for all 3 or $60 each. Local pick up or can meet if close enough
  3. New Clam Yukon TC ice shelter. I received it as a gift but it is bigger than I need. $400.
  4. Check out the 2nd Buck on page 3. I'm definately going to start eating more grapes and acorns if thats what it does for you!!! My question is how do you hold the gun and do you wipe before or after you shoot it? http://www.nyantler-outdoors.com/2012-new-york-whitetails-page-3.html
  5. Maybe you don't see them in the woods because they leave when they're suppose to. Maybe we should buy photometers, the DEC sets a minimum standard, anything above the minimum level we can shoot. Heck on a full moon night you could sit out in your stand be be legal. With a little snow, you could be out there in the first and last quarter.
  6. Might want to read the law, the tag doesn't have to be attached to the deer until it gets to the point of transportation or consumption. The tag must be filled out immediately once the deer is confirmed dead and in your possession. It's ok to kill a deer and drag it home then attach the tag. Or to the vehicle you are going transport it with. I must be filled out before you move it. Here: Tagging Here's what you must do immediately upon killing a deer or bear: Fill in all information on the carcass tag and report tag with ink that won't erase. Detach the carcass tag from the report tag. Once filled in, the tag may not be altered. Keep the report tag, you will need it when you report your deer or bear. The month and date must also be cut or marked in ink on the margin of the carcass tag. You do not need to attach the tag to the carcass while it is being dragged or physically carried from the place of kill to a camp or point where transportation is available. Once you get to the camp or vehicle, attach the tag to the deer or bear immediately. Keep the tag attached to the carcass until it is cut up and prepared for consumption.
  7. "Shots almost 40 minutes before legal sunrise for this area. The first shot was so dark that it was a challenge to make out the trees in the woods. I have no idea what they were shooting at ..... maybe each other." Too bad they missed...didn't read about any human harvests in the paper. Same thing in 7S. I think I heard nearly as many shots between 630 and 755 am as I did over the next hour. I heard a shot about 1/4 mile from where I hunt 15 minutes before legal shooting. I know the time because I was checking my phone when the shot range out. I ran saw the guy who hunts there later in the morning. He bragged he killed a small 8 pt. Rather an argue with him, I mentioned to the landowner what I heard and when legal shooting is to begin. Hopefully, it won't happen again.
  8. Still for sale. The bullets are in Barnes 290 gr expanders marketed as Reminton copper solids. This would be 12 pks with 8 bullet/sabots in each...or 96 Barnes bullets. I have more powder, sabots, and other accessories if needed.
  9. Savage 10ML-II pre accu-trigger stainless with black synthetic stock. Excellent condition with a perfect bore. SCOPE and RINGS NOT INCLUDED. Will leave bases. Only shot about 50 times with smokeless powders. Never any subs. Shoots MOA with 200 and 250 gr SST's. Includes 12 pks of Remington copper solid(Barnes) sabots, misc 44 cal bullets, and about 75 .45 cal. 300 gr Speer bullets. Right now I don't want to ship but would prefer meeting or local delivery.
  10. Here's a nice piece for a good price. http://www.exitta.co...70&acres_max=80
  11. I guess the "revolution" will start in New York, this is by far the crookedest state I've lived in. I've lived in 7 states over the past 30+ yrs. With guys like Hinchey basically drawing their own congressional districts boundries in order to get reelected. How much more antihunting/gun can you get than Schumer and Hinchey (granted he's leaving but will most like be replaced by another anti). The way to change the country is to start voting differently in your own state.
  12. What time was the end of legal shooting light?
  13. I hope Region 7 releases a list like some of the others did. I was really happy when they nailed a guy whole poached deer near where I live a few years ago.
  14. Cleaning your gun boils down to this: Black powder, APP, Shockey's, T7, and Pyrodex all contain salts in various degrees. If you use these powders, your clean up should be with a water based solvent (dish soap and water or other concoctions). This is to dissolve the remaining salts. Oil based solvents will not dissolve salt or salt by products. When done cleaning you can coat the barrel with oil. BH209 is a chemical based powder (similar to smokeless powders) and requires a petroleum based solvent to clean the barrel (Hoppe's #9 or something similar). Basically, clean you gun with what the powder manufacture tells you to.
  15. I would have believed you, but there aren't any clouds, so I don't believe it.
  16. 5744 is an excellent powder that ignites well and is very consistent with bullets in the 200-250 gr. range. If the petals on the sabot extend past the bullet too far, the loading jag on the end of the ramrod can cause the petals to pinch against the rifling, or bend the tips, thereby damaging the sabot. It could affect the accuracy of the load.
  17. Ohio has a system for poached deer. It's one priced shopping based on the size of the deer. The minimum you would pay for the deer is $300 plus any other fines and court costs. A "trophy" buck my cost you $10k just as remediation to the state, plus the other fines. I heard 2 shots just after midnight in a field above my house 2 weekends ago. It goes on in Tioga county, too.
  18. My guess is not. That deer was definitely hit by something other than a slug to the neck. Broken front leg, broken hind hoof, numerous other open contusions, huge hair patch missing on the shoulder...all this from loading it in the pickup??? It may have been finished by a slug to the neck, but was the overall kill "fair chase"? I have my doubts, but he can keep the rack if he finished the deer and legally tagged it (which it wasn't in the camp pictures).
  19. You must have the transferred in possession to shoot a deer. "...only the hunter who is actually in possession of the permit in the field may use it to take a deer." I'd of let him learn a hard lesson.
  20. Wow, big buck. How many times was he shot? There's blood everywhere, but he doesn't look like he's gutted.
